Hey, im supposed to be writing up a contract for when im supposed to do photos for a rodeo lady next summer. she wants to pay me $150, but im going to start charging $10 per person after the first 15 people. How do i write a contract, i guess. i've never seen or used one, so if someone has a copy of one they've used or has any suggestions that would be awesome.

writing a contract is considered practicing law and for that you need to be a lawyer.

For things like this I just make a list in a letter format:

So and So understands that I'll photograph the rodeo from 11 am to 3 pm for $150, and that includes 15 people. Any and all persons after number 15 are $10 each. So and So will grant photographer access to areas as needed. Photographer assumes all liability for any issues caused by the photographer. (you better have insurance for that last bit!)

If you google 'photographer contract' there are hundreds of examples that you can view via the results. Copy one (lots are free) and edit to suit your needs or at least read through a few of them to get an idea of how they are worded and what others feel necessary to include in one.

If you get totally stuck, shoot me a PM so we can work out a way for you to communicate your exact needs/requirements and I can produce one for you or at least get you started with a draft for you to edit. It really isn't that hard, just have to be precise where needed and broad enough where needed to get you what you want, the protection you need and satisfies the customer's needs.

At 17, are you old enough to be a party to a contract?

She can enter into one and enforce it against the other party, but they cannot enforce it against her.
