I have taken too many good pics this week and I can't decide!!!

I've submitted and unsubmitted 4 times now.

I know I'll choose the wrong one, no matter what, lol : ) . .

Anyone else in this boat?

I spent all day saturday shooting and after all of that and 256 megs of photos later I ended up using an image from another shoot. I guess ill see if it was worth it or not.... Its harder than I thought to capture one image that conveys city life in my town.... Now all I can do is wait.... Good luck to everyone that posted an image ..this was a tough one.

i'm personally struggling. I took a LOT of pics and there are so many different kinds: buildings, human interest, seedy side of thing, weird strangers. . I can't decide at ALL which captures 'city life' best, if even one does!

I have a group of pics that are beautiful as part of a montage....maybe some of my best work in 10 years.

I just don''t know if a single photo is gonna stand alone but it''s all I got..I like it...here it comes.

Yes, I had the same problem. By the end of the week I had approximately ten photos that I liked very much. I think they all might be interesting for the City Life theme. It was difficult to pick which to enter....in the end I went with a photo that I like, but it's not my favorite photo of the week. My favorite photos were taken at night at a carnival. I didn't think voters would consider carnival photos to represent City Life.....so went with a more general "city life" photo.

I got one photo on a spur of the moment idea, and I love it, so I stopped thinking about photography for the rest of the week :)

Same here. Even asked a friend which they liked - they chose about 4! - not a lot of help - eeny meeny miny....

Mine may not be 'clever' or imaginative, but I think the quality and such is good. I'm pretty sure it will be better than last weeks-I hope. This is now only the end of my first week and all weekend I kept thinking...Got to get a photo, Got to get a photo. OOH the pressure! :-)

Me too. I just couldn't get going on this one. Went out to shoot 4 days and all I got was junk. Eventually got it down to 5, then just held my nose and submitted. Oh well, at least I don't have to pay for the film:)

Sometimes a theme presents itself to you.

I am not a photographer although I play one here :-)

But..I deal with a lot of photographers everyday life and quite a few of them say the same thing. When they start shooting sometimes the photos start off funky feeling. Then..as the shots roll on a pattern or story starts to present itself to you. As the story builds the drama builds..shots start telling what angle to take..what elements to include.

I felt that way this week. As I said..I think many of the photos I took this week would be very good for a montage/magazine story or something but several are intereting in themselves for their color and elements.

You folks probably have some terrific stuff and once you sit and look at them as a whole I bet a story of your own starts to unfold!

I had a bunch of decent photos...nothing that really stood out. I'll probably post some in outtakes tomorrow. Then I got something I rather like...I don't think it will do particularly well, but oh well :)

I just finished submitting...what troubles though - for some reason my resampling came out to 640 x 479! So I had to adjust without keeping the aspect ratio. I hope this doesn't damage the quality too badly, because before resampling, the quality was crisp and clear.

Anyway - GOOD LUCK to All and to All a Good NIGHT!!

No luck for me. I'm not submitting anything this week. The weather down here in south florida has been dreary and depressing. rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain.

Oh yeah did I mention rain?!

yes, RAIN is right. that is all it has done this week here so I had pretty much given up on a shot myself! Then, miraculously today it was beautiful so I got off my butt and went downtown where the funniest thing ever just fell into my lap! At least, it was hysterical in person--I just hope I was able to capture the moment. We shall see...:)

Oh I love funny pictures! That sounds great amitchell.

I did finally get up the nerve to go to a public place for my shoot. I got several photos featuring people that I thought were pretty okay. However, only one shot out of about 60 gave me a feeling that it represented city life. I''m hoping the technical flaws don''t take away from it too much.

The best thing about my session is that I tried a couple of abstract images and was well pleased with the experiment. Now if we ever do an abstract challenge I think I will be prepared.

L.A. ΓΆ€“ I have every city life type photo opportunity on the planet. I have Hollywood, Universal Studios, Disney, Warner Bros, I saw Elvis 5 times this week, Babe watch, I have celebrities in my back yard. Some of this stuff might be moving to the general public, but nothing was as inspiring to me as the simple photo I have opted to submit. In the midst of all the parties, festivals and celebrations of life, I have spent hours trying to capture a happy moment.

So did you submit anything? Just take a picture of anything and submit it. Thats what some people do around here. ;)
