Well, I just changed my name.

Whereas before it was my intials and a random 4 digit number, it is now a reference to where I sat in my eight man shell when rowed in college. A bit obscure but I think it suits me better.

I was an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 68 for about ten years. All of the kids called me Mister E., since my unique last name seems hard to pronounce at first sight.

One of the kids that later became an Eagle Scout, said one day, âMister E. youâre such a Mysteryâ. I always like a âplay on wordsâ so I liked it. And yes I am a mystery since Iâm not famous, yet. I may have to change my name for fame.

Just-A-Mister-E, yeah a Mystery

That's funny. Whenever I see your nick, it conjures up a completely different image for me, because in Afrikaans, a 'Dassie' is a cute little furry animal that looks like a large hamster/guinea pig. It's proper name is a Rock Hyrax apparently.
And in Afrikaans 'lem' is a blade, so Dassilem ('Dassie-blade') sounds like some crazed bunny killer ;-)

Here is a photo I snapped of some Dassies in Pretoria on Sunday...

That looks like a groundhog.

Yeah - they are similar looking, but apparently not closely related. The Hyraxes (hyraxae?) are apparently a much more primitive form of mammal. Presumably why they've never been able to predict how long winter is going to last for... ;-)

Ja-9

Because that is how you spell my name Ja-nine...and it was a "pet name" that my dad used for me...

I'm the extremely quiet type of person who would do anything for pretty much anyone. (it annoys my husband) I offer rides to walkers when I have my car, I run grocery runs for neighbors if they need it. Basically, I try to be nice and hope others will be too. At night I dream of death and murder, usually my own, rarely I'm the one that does them. I've had these dreams since Jr High. I would write these dreams to keep from dwelling on them. Once they were written down, they would stop and I would have normal dreams for a bit. One of my writting instructors thought of my nickname. She said my days are comparable to heaven and my nights to hell thus angelfire.

Because of my gargantuan size and the abject terror I evoke.

Randoo is just the name they used back when I was working. (since retired)
The 53 is the Engine Company I worked at for the last half of my career. Yes, it happens to be my age this year but not for too much longer.
Not overly creative, but I've had it for years now.

bergiekat is;
bergie...nickname in high school, my grandpa's nickname (never met him) based on my surname when I was young.
kat...short for Katherine (yawn)

Not real creative and often already taken on websites!

I think you should have used AKmed

Thanks all for replying - there are some cool, very well thought out, interesting and creative user names out there and others that are, well..... There are a few members I still wonder about why they chose what they did. I guess I will just make up the reasons behind them myself! ;p

Five_Seat i was a four seat port side in college. i started using onersix in highschool when a friend of mine had gotten me into kabalah (before madonna made it popular). I don't practice anymore and never really got into it past making up a cool magik name. i believe his magik name was dalimar and our other friend was reven. each letter has a number that goes with it and what ever my magik number was i had to make a name that equaled it. i think they went one through nine and my name equalel 8 or something like that. and onersix is what i came up with, and have had it for years as my email addy. and i'm just too lazy to change it. except for one other site I'm EMTIV33. i'm an EMT-IV in TN. and 33 is my fav number.

Changed mine today, so it now reads the way I meant it to. It's now the same as my Flickr screenname, except for the need to use an underscore instead of the space.

I tryed beekeeping for a few years, had up to 12 hives for awhile but they keep dying off I'm down to two hives now, (if they survive the winter) in the spring I'll try for some good macro shots.

I lived in a small, rural cabin in the middle of the NE Cascade Mountains for 10 years. I shared a dirt driveway with 3 other neighbors. We were all separated by a few acres, but all shared a love and respect for the area and especially the glacier-fed river which we all lived beside and could hear babbling.

We didn't have 911 set up in our area at the time and our addresses were set up according to how many miles you lived up river. The road was a 32 mile dead-end road. Anyhow, I drove my daughter to school one day and came home to a blue sign at the top of our driveway that read, "Riversong Rd". Wow a new road sign in just 25 minutes time.

It appears my neighbor had the good sense to request the name of Riversong because I later found out people named their driveways things like, "13 Drunk Men Lane" and "Rattlesnake Lane".

I sometimes wonder if my monikor on DPC should have been, "babbling brook" !! LoL
