I am having a lovely week. Peter and I have both taken it as annual leave (and next week, too!) - it was a case of take it by the end of the month or lose it, so a bit of a no-brainer really... Spring has finally sprung, and on Monday we went to Fountains Abbey for the first picnic of the year, which we did in style - smoked salmon pate, a stick of french bread, salad, potato salad, and a game pie from the local butcher, washed down with a chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio. Perfect! Tuesday was a day of visiting Peters's relatives, and then yesterday we went for a lovely walk in the woodland near Bolton Abbey. There was lots of wildlife about, and I saw a couple of 'firsts' including a nuthatch, which was wildly exciting. Today we are going down to Cambridge to stay with my eldest for a couple of days; I can't wait to see her! |

Sara, it's wonderful to see that you are able to have the time with your husband and that you have such a beautiful place to hang out. We can expect to see photos soon, yes?
All the best to you and yours as you enjoy your time away :)

After a string of really bad entries, all of which I liked, it's nice to see one that I really liked doing well. I only have three comments but they're really nice :)
snaffles Thank you for the wonderful comment "Wonderful tribute, Max, says in one photo what all of us here on dpc are thinking. And congrats on the placing, too!" I was
really happy with the finish of this shot and I was thrilled at how well it was received by DPC and the best part is that Shez picked it as a favorite, and you can't get much better then
that :)

I've got a strange, squigley sign that looks something like this: 6 - in front of my score in the candid challenge. Is that ok or is it a computer/site malfunction? Is it a bad sign? Do people get therapy for this sort of thing? |

Oh dear. I think perhaps a few burnt offerings to random non-deities might be in order. I came home from my little trip and discovered I have one of those odd figures in front of my candid score as well. Perhaps Matt can explain it?? In the mean time, I'm not taking any chances. I'm off to burn something.... |

Ay caramba!
DLCXVI
do not allow the squigley signs to congregate.

Well, it's kind of complicated really. It's a phenomenon that occurs when you have hit the update button a prime number of times, sang "If I had a Million Dollars" to karaoke recently, and have bought L glass from an American living in Germany.
No one really knows why. If someone knows an antidote, please let me know.

So this weekend I go forth, as the moons have aligned, and told a tale that I must make a purchase, that in my lifetime will not be owned. But in my defense, it shall eventually be my final attempt at causing hate and discord amongst my offspring..
