I'm working on something to replace the team scoring; once my scattered fragments of ideas resemble something other than a toddler's abstract fingerpainting, I'll share.

Thanks for your good work!

Here comes a very dumb question from me... are polar bears different in the Netherlands? I guess I am surprised to see how very dirty and brown the polar bears are and also that this picture was taken of them on dirt and grass. Guess I was expecting a little more artic looking environment (and a little whiter bear lol).

The Toledo Zoo has trained me to expect scenes like this lol.

As for the moment captured, it is a very sad one indeed.

I saw a NatGeo or some such special once on elephants. One of the babies took ill and could no longer go on (they were headed for water and needed to get there). They all waited. And when the baby died, they all mourned. It was so terribly sad. I guess we just never think of animals as "mourning" but they apparently do. Also saw a picture long ago of a dove that had been hit by a car and its mate, for quite some time, would bring it food and wait by it. I think someone from Fish and Wildlife eventually took the mate away so the other dove would move on.

I passed my 1000th comment made today.

I know, I'm no Melethia, but I think it's a pretty special achievement.

I saw that. I remember it made me cry. I also cry every time that humane society commercial with Sarah McLachlan's song Angel plays.

Be glad you weren't in Honduras with me to see these puppies.....

Dogs live a very harsh existence in the Third World and for people like me who are complete softies, it was rough.

OMG! Did you give it a sandwich? I would have spent the whole time feeding them!

That was the part that hurt.....how do you feed the dogs when the people in the village have so little?

Yep, just got it - thanks! I'll download it here in a bit and give it the "two Topaz layers plus a Nik Silver Efex" test and see what happens... :-)

I need to get commenting on the Remember Those challenge!

I almost beat my new PB, just off by .02!

ETA: Don't fire me from Team Suck for not sucking very well. As an argument you could say I've sucked at sucking, and sucking is sucking no matter how you look at it right?

Yay! I made payout on Fotolia again today. It's funny, I haven't put a new picture up there since I first started doing the stock with the Fuji. Now I have this kick ass camera and haven't shot a single thing for stock. I need to get on it.

Wow Kelli - that's really cool, congrats! I've had only about $10 on there forever lol. Do you have a link to your site so we can see your work? Have you tried submitting anything yet that was edited with Topaz?

I'm not sure if this will work... //www.fotolia.com/p/145758

I haven't submitted anything there in ages. It's only my second pay out. The first one was $56, this one was $51. I also got one for $55 from 123RF a while back. I'm at about $26 there now, so still a while to go.

OK , so here's a case of you take the good with the bad. First the bad, as many of you know from my earlier post in this thread, I lost two friends last week, both to massive heart

attacks one 58 and the other 59. We had the funerals for both of them today, talk about your emotional roller coaster. That was the bad news, now for the good. Our God daughter had a baby

boy this afternoon while I was at the funerals, his name is Elwyn 7lbs 8ozs so there's the good news. I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread :)

Thank you for reading.

MAX!
