Two TSers on the home page at once? And GeneralE is starting threads challenging SC decisions? And xianart also hasn't been around?
Man, I go away and the world goes to hell. *shakes head in dismay*
Congrats, Jeb and Wendy!
Anyway, if you're curious about what I've been doing instead of entering and keeping up with DPC and TS, it's our new house. We moved in on July 2 after 8 months of renovations!
Pics on Facebook, but here's a sample:

Indeed it was. Thanks to 3 DQs, it ended up in 9th place. :)

I saw a post in a thread a couple of days ago complaining that the Forums had grown stale and needed some "action" ... my thread isn't so much about trying to "challenge" the decision as to understand it, because I obviously think that combining a photo and other props to create a new composition should be legal. |

Beautiful house Jeffery, welcome to the pride of ownership you will enjoy the house. Now maybe we will get to see more of your wonderfull photos. On another note I'm taking the step and entering 3 of my photos in the state fair, will keep you posted if they get accepted or not will not know until August. This is a big step for me to put my work out there for others beside this site to see.

It's fun entering in state fairs -- and they vary widely! The Minnesota state fair is extremely hard to get into -- you can only submit one photo, and they take an extremely small percentage. The Virginia state fair is the opposite -- they take everything and it's much more straight forward judging. Minnesota was much more artsy-fartsy depending upon the judges and the year.

Hello all, I have to say I'm sorry to LadyK and vawendy. I asked for help to choose from some shots for the free study and they both came to my rescue and helped
me but then I entered something that I never even showed them. I just wanted to let them know that it's not that I didn't value their opinion, because I sure did, but that I was given the
OK to use the image that I really wanted to enter at 5 min. before rollover and didn't have time to show anyone.
SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND MY FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE.
These were the choices: and and this is what I went with
Thank you.
MAX! |

Heh. This is our third house. The really great news is that we sold the last one, so we're down to only one example of pride of ownership again. :) not sure I'll be back to entering every challenge like I was for a long time, though.
Good luck in the state fair!

Wow, things sure have been hopping on this thread. Jeffrey, gorgeous house, looks great! Congrats to Wendy and Jeb on their ribbons, and welcome back Christian!
For the first time in a long time have absolutely nothing in voting.
At this end, not too much new. Got a new client so getting her and her very smart, very stubborn horse going. He'd been a real dink with us until the last one this past Wednesday and suddenly everything went very smoothly and he was ultra-cooperative. I'll be getting on him probably next week. The world's cutest baby donkey was born to a new jenny my main client got from a rescue. Vet came to give her her shots, said she'd probably foal within 3 weeks. Next morning, I go out to bring her and her buddy in....and there is a third little face topped by enormous ears watching me. Pix later.
And tomorrow night, going to Bluesfest to see The Church (Aussie band) and Brian Setzer Orchestra. Promises to be a blast and made all the more interesting, cause I'll be meeting up with someone whom I haven't seen for about 30 years there! |

Well lets get back into this with a picture for Flowers that will fall in the middle of the pack. I'm thinking high 4's low 5's typical of what I do. I just need to go out and shoot more but have no engery, I'm fighting a low grade bug that won't let go :(

Karmat, I am completely lost - not sure if it is the British-English/American-English thing; perhaps I just need a translation.... |

Ok here's pix of Maisie. First shot not too good, of her at approx 6 hrs old. She was born outside in the rain so she's a little disheveled :-)
Now Maisie at 8 days old, with her mum Willow and finally on her own, she is a very independent little girl Very difficult subject to capture cause baby animals hate holding still! |
