Hi Folks. thought I would pop in and say hi!

My first vote of my skin entry was a 2. It is currently sitting around 5. My FS is in the mid 5's. My luck has run out apparently. :(

I'd say two ribbons in a week is a pretty good run. :-) By the way, I show 7 across when viewing profiles and you'll need to add a bit of variety as the year progresses - you have three kite-boarder dudes, two wolves, and two eagles. Add a flower! :)

I would love to, but a flower getting a decent score to get in the top 7 even? likely never happen. LOL

How have you been Deb?

I'm good! And have you looked at Ursula's portfolio? Flowers can get a 7! :-)

Funny thing, last night.....

I kind of live in a current entertainment vacuum (Except for Movies....) and I'd never heard of this American Idol winner, David Cook. I had to go to a benefit concert at a nearby college for an organization I'm on the board of directors of.....and it was David Cook.

Well, since I was a 53 year old guy in a coat & tie, as a member of the beneficiary org, we got passes right on through the line early and without even a perfunctory checkover......NO cameras allowed for the masses.....

Some days it's good to be an innocuous looking old fart......8>)

This guy put on one heck of a show!

There were 3 others that entered the action challenge.

Tooting my own horn for just a moment if I may, simply because I'm so darn tickled about it... my FS may be at a 4.something (and I'm still pleased with the one I entered, thanks) but my most recent accepted photo at 1x has been on the top row all day. :-) Got a few good comments here (it's in my portfolio) but not a whole lot of notice other than with the usual suspects.

OK, back to your regularly scheduled program. And yeah, I realize it's not like getting published or selling a picture or any of that, but it's still pretty nifty to me!

Congrats Deb! I'd say from what I hear about how hard it is to even get something accepted there, that's quite an accomplishment!
03/04/2009 01:46:35 PM · #244
That's awesome Deb!

taking a break at work, feeling guilty as it's been so long since i wrote. i hope everyone is well... congratulations deb...

i've been insanely busy, and deeply uninspired in photography. i guess the design work helps to assuage the creative spark a little. here's the most recent thing i did in photography... not very exciting.

03/04/2009 02:22:37 PM · #246
Good to hear from you, Christian! I guess it's good that you're busy. Is it? Are you the designer of the designs in the photograph? Beautiful work!
03/04/2009 02:24:27 PM · #247
not my jewellery, just the pics and the banner design. this is an 8x3 foot banner.

03/04/2009 02:30:29 PM · #248
It has your somewhat trademark (can't remember the name of it) border. I'm guessing the person who does do the jewelry likes it quite well!

So it's a slow day at work and I have a headache...

Wandering through checking out challenges and stuff, and Ernie, dear, remind me why you joined Team Suck? The stats for your last ten challenges show two ribbons, two stars, and 7 of those 10 in the 90+ percentile. That's pretty darn impressive! That Matt person has a nice run of 6s in his last 10, too, but had the decency to throw a 4 in once.

Mostly, though, I was trying to find the thread where you bash the non-real-wildlife shooters so I could rib you about the shot-through-the-glass wolves. :-)

Last night I was perusing threw my photo archives for a hidden gem , and have come to the conclusion I really suck. I worked on 4, one I like a lot, and will probably enter, and as usual land me in the 4.5 range.

I have heard with CS3 one can open a JPEG in camera raw, might someone with this knowledge explain how? Thank You.
