i get to chose which camera we get over the summer for yearbook, but im not sure what would be the best option. i use my camera for yearbook stuff mostly, but i was forced to use the crapola point and shoot today due to short notice of an event.
Any ideas? |

If others are going to use it, you want something that won't intimidate them, not a hassle to tote around, but with lots of functionality for you. How about the Powershot G9 or G10?

Have both--VERY good, both fully auto and fully manual. Not good for low light, but it has a hot shoe and you can get a good canon flash for full ttl control.
Night scene/portrait mode works well, too.
Play with one in a store before you buy. (whatever you choose)
Not sure it would be good for covering sport events, but for around campus shooting should be great! Candids work well on it too.

I was going to suggest looking at a digital rangefinder of some kind, like the Leica M8.
Then I saw the price of the Leica M8.
So now, nevermind! lol. |
