Hey folks
I have a question about a lens and whether or not I'd be able to use it on challenges. I have a pentax k100d super, and my dad had all these old nikon lenses. While looking up information on adapters, I found this forum on using Nikon F lenses on Pentax K bodies. So I thought I'd try it.
I'm getting some great results with pictures (also because my 2 current lenses are much slower than the wide open manual primes that were passed down to me). The only problem is that while the lens works functionally with the camera in Ap. Priority and Manual, it does not record Ap. value nor zoom in the data on the image. If I submitted one of these photos into a challenge, would I be DQ'ed for that information not being embedded into the image?
Either way, I'm excited for the possibilities! (Especially of being able to shoot different shots without opening up my wallet... for now!)
Has anyone else tried this? |

Eeek. I'd have to have a back-up body to be brave enough to go around doing that. I wouldn't do it on my only camera body. |

nah, don't worry, the only important info that has to be included in your exif is the correct date.
i'm also looking into getting an adapter for my mamiya 645 lenses to use on my fuji S3...

Haha. I was scared at first, but the lens fit just as described in the forum. I took a shot or two just holding the lens in... then I tried turning the lens to secure it. I didn't have to use any force on it at all. =o) But I needed it because I'm a musician first (expensive hobby/job) and a "just for kicks" photographer (expensive hobby)- so the wife wasn't pleased when I was looking around for lenses- so this is a nice cheap temporary fix. |
