Good move! You’ll be able to shoot more than just woodies with a Nikon. |

I want to echo what all of the other D90 owners have said here: You'll love it.
I upgraded from a D80 to a D90, and I have zero regrets. The larger high-res screen was incentive enough to upgrade, but the high ISO performance and HD movie mode is icing on the cake.
FANTASTIC camera.
Now all I have to do is knock nshapiro off of his 'highest rated photo from a D90' pedestal! :)

Welcome to Nikon. I recently found myself with the same "Canondrum" ... (sick pun intended)
Gorgeous camera,... love the size and weight,... wish it was around before I bought my D300. Just curious as to why you chose the 18-105 as opposed to the 16-85 or 18-70? I really hate the plastic mounts!
Off topic:
Also, being a newbie to this site, where would I get a good feel for Canon standard zoom fast lenses. Given the absurd pricing of the D3x, and if the D700x takes too long, there may be a 5D mk II on the horizon if I can bring myself handle Canon ergonomics. |

I am a newbie too and didnt want to invest in a good lens until I knew how to use the kit one. and I added to the kit by getting a 70-300mm VR.
My next purchase might be one of those you mentioned.
P.S. Lemme know iff you switch to a Canon ever.. I may hog on some of your Nikon lenses;-) J/K. |
