In the UK you know its christmas time when you hear Fairytale of New York by the Pogues on the radio. Its the only christmas song I like

Wow, I'd never heard that song before, but you piqued my curiosity. For the equally curious and out of touch, here's a couple of links:

Do You Hear What I Hear (Bing Crosby's version is my favorite)
Pretty Paper (Roy Orbison's version)
All of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra songs
and sadly, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer (currently my ringtone)

The Vince Guaraldi trio is certainly my favorite Christmas disc:

If you use PANDORA just use that album as a starting channel and you get a great assortment of Christmas Jazz.

I can listen to that Guaraldi disk all year long.

Some other favorites are June Christy singing "The Merriest" and Blossom Dearie and Bob Dorough doing "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

I love this one also but I'm not sure it is technically a Christmas song, the movie features elements of Christmas and of winter. Still a nice song regardless of the occasion.

Walking in the Air
and also the alternative Rock remake:
Walking in the Air - Nightwish
which is pushing the topic a little, so sue me! I'm innocent, she made me do it!

The links below are not christmas songs, But these songs make me wish that this group would record some christmas songs. I have a feeling it would be superb. Have a listen and tell me if you agree.

Song One on Youtube

Song Two on Youtube

Having some fun with Helium then another live version of Song Two.

ETA: If anyone knows of or stumbles across some Christmas songs from these guys please advise. Found some on google.

I strongly second that motion!

My favorite:
Old Toy Trains (Nana Mouskouri version primarily)
The Christmas Song (Mel Torme version)
Up on Santa Claus Mountain (Lorrie Morgan)
Baby its Cold Outside (not really Christmas, Doris Day and Bing Crosby version)

Others:
Wexford Carol
I saw three ships
Sheep May Safely Graze

Seriously? - It's on the radio almost permanently here from November to January. It's a great song though. Featuring Kirsty MacColl (who died tragically in a speedboat accident a few years ago)

I don't know if it's a "favorite" but the one I thought of when I saw this thread (and have actually heard most recently) is Silent Night/7 O'Clock News by Simon and Garfunkel.
