My fauna shot is not looking good. i still have one more day, but the basic editing rules are killing me! (hence why I hate open challenges) I am in FS. I will likely NOT be in post card. I live in a small Ontario summer tourist town. Right now it is all brown mud and nothing else because the snow just melted. :(

Im going to predict a 5.8 on my FS and my Fauna. Not to bad but its hard to tell these days. I dont like anything I shoot lately. Its a terrible feeling! hahah. I usually take a shot and say "thats the one!" but right now I cant seem to choose a picture and not really sure about any of them. Oh well. It will be an interesting week.

Don't let the crummy scores of the abstract challenge ruin your self confidence. That challenge is all over the place in scoring because it was so open to interpretation. You are good at what you do....believe in in yourself and don't let the fickle dpc voters make you start second guessing!

Oooo I hated the abstract challenge. hahaha. A 4.7 is very very disappointing to me after such a great month. I wanted so bad to enter my models as pantamimes for the language instead but that darn basic editing screwed it up for me to. I still cant seem to get a picture I am happy with tho. I seem to be in some kind of picture rut. hahah.
So this is it basssman7. Our tourny ends this week. You have one point. It will be between the Fauna/Flora and then the FS. Im letting what I have in ride and am hoping to pull out the 2 points I need by being above you in scores for both. All I have to do is hope the wolves the eagles and the osprey have migrated to a different part of Canada and that your landscapes are filled with fog. :=)

Hehehe. Well the landscapes are presently filled with mud, so no problems there. I have not been able to get a decent shot at an eagle yet this year and I just seen (saw?) my first osprey of the season the other day, but they are not really back yet in any kind of numbers. The wolves are getting lazy in this warm weather and because the excitement of breeding season is over.
I will figure something out for fauna but have no great hopes for it. My FS should do ok, but certainly not contend by any means. Good luck!

i didn't enter rock, or the free study as nothing worthy in March to enter :-(
i was really hoping you entered 1-second, as i had a stonking score in that!! lol

Well Agnes, unless you have a real dog of a score in one of those challenges, you will likely beat me. I have no idea what the deal is, but every one of my 3 shots in voting right now have been dropping like freakin crazy all day! Even my Rock score which has tons of votes has dropped about .15 today! My FS is tanking so bad it will likely be the worst FS I have ever entered! (and FS shots are usually my highest scoring) I actually love the shot and thought it was very dpc friendly and had predicted a nice 6.5-7 finish for it...but it is getting closer to 5.5. no idea why (of course) because I have no comments left on it. My Fauna is above 6, but not by very much, and it has dropped like crazy all day as well.
I should likely just give up on this dpc shit, or on photography in general. very, very, very upset and depressed right now. :(

You are no where CLOSE to losing basssman7. It looks like it will be a very close race tho because my scores are right where yours are. That will make it more interesting I think!
You told me a few posts ago to not get discouraged. You should take your own advice. I have taken over 2000 pictures in the past week and I am still not to happy with them. I dont know why either. hahah. Usually I "get it" right away and get the shot in a few tries. Now it seems nothing is working. I dont know if it is the categories or what but its been really a funky week.
Right now my mindset for the h2h is that if I lose I lose. I had a good run and just because I am very competitive it doesnt mean if I lose I should be kicking myself. I am still proud for how far I came in the h2h not expecting to get to even round 2 much less round 3.
Anyway dont worry. My scores are nearly equal to yours and that is because mine have both dropped to. My Fauna was asked for a validation to but it will pass. I know I used the right rules for it. But I got really scared this morning when I got an email from admin saying my FS was disqualified but it was never asked for validation and the reasons dont seem to apply to my picture. So I think that was some kind of error. hahah. Just kind of makes this week even more funcky! hahah. There is still a lot of time left on the scores so dont count yourself out yet! I need two points. I have to beat you in both. You only need one to beat me! |

I have a lot of really bad things going on in my life right now and things are looking very grim. As a result I have been taking my little bit of success on here too seriously. It is the one positive I have going on right now so I have been overly protective of it, which is not the way it should be. So to those I have pissed off lately, I apologize.
Good luck to you Agnes and everyone else too. Have fun, shoot lots, and unlike me try to remember that how well your image does on dpc has no bearing in the real world. :)

I wanted to kick your arse. hahaha. I was so mad at you when you made the FS count for us. But you know what? Im over it. hahaha. I just had to sit back and think that if my free study isnt good enough then that isnt his problem. Its mine. So I told myself to suck it up and just do the best you can.
Sorry things arent going well. They arent that great here right now either. Health - finances - car problems - you name it. Have you ever prayed over a scratch ticket? haahah. Yeh that is what this ding dong does. It worked tho for $3 and $5 but I wasnt specific that I needed it to be in the thousands so that is my fault..hahaa).
In the next few days we will know where we stand. I am good with whatever happens because I just "know" that SoulMan1978 will start another H2H right after this one right Soulman???? |
