Looks like an easy one for you even when you are going downhill. At 25 votes and tanking at 5.5+

Thanks. and congrats to you. As Soulman said, it sucks to win a challenge and lose the match...but I'll bet it makes losing the match a hell of a lot easier to take!

I do not even remember what it is like to ribbon. My one ribbon was almost 2 years ago...but I have 2 fourths a fifth and a seventh! lmao.

I am not holding my breath on ribbons...just trying to enjoy being above the mid 6's, the air is thinner up here!

Hahaha. My calendar is still about the same, and my action at about 70 votes is now well into the 7's. The funny thing is I would never have chose that shot for the action challenge. I was told by others that it would do well so I went with it....maybe I should listen more often? lmao

Limerick you have no reason to be scared, you are a ribbon earning machine these days! I have one lonely ribbon covered with dust from long ago...

2 questions for the Soulman....

For the avg score that shows on the scoring sheet...that is based on each person's avg score since the start of the tourny correct? Even though some of those challenges might not have been used in a H to H because they were between stand offs? (essentially the same way your avg is determined for the purposes of the highest loser)

2nd question relating to the first... are these avg's based on taking all of the challenges the person has entered since the start of the tourny, adding them up then dividing by the number? or did you take the person's starting avg on their profile x # of votes, then the current avg on the profile x # of votes then subtract former one from the current one and divide by number of votes? This would likely sway the avg's more towards the FS scores because there is typically more votes on them. (this way of determining avg actually determines your avg vote, as opposed to waying each challenge equally regardless of how many votes each received)

thanks. :)

Just luck. Even I am amazed at that. I do have a new model base now tho and am getting a little studio set up. So who knows but I am gearing up to do my best. It will all depend on the subject of the challenge I think.

I dont know when my round 3 will start either. hahha. I dont have anything for the free study yet and probably wont. I dont like free studies much unless I have something really great. I cant compete with aurora night skies.

I am going to be in Skin and Light on White. I am shooting those this weekend. But I dont think anything posted now other then maybe the free study will count for me in the H2H round 3 yet. So I waiting but in the meantime I am getting ready to be up against you and I think you are a great photographer! Dont forget we dont need ribbons to place in the H2H and I only started getting scores you are used to. :=)

oh come on Agnes !!! no FS entry. I am pretty sure I will bomb this month for the FS , no inspiration at all but I am in. There is still 3 days to shoot and I will probably not finalize the entry till the last day.

hahah. I did try. I just dont like them. I am hard on myself I guess. I have a hard enough time trying to pick the right one for a category nevermind it being anything you want to enter. When I see some of the beautiful city scapes (like you do) I just melt. haha. I cant compete with that (yet). I will someday but believe it or not I am still even learning camera functions!

I truly understand , I know exactly what you mean. Being hard & setting a high standard is great !! Last year I entered shots sometimes just for the sake of participation. This year I made a promise to myself , if I won't score my own shot at least a 5.5 , I will not submit it. Talk about having a tough time and being true to yourself , but so far so good. That's why I am having insomnia as I get closer to the end of Feb, because so far after changing 3 placeholders for the FS , I feel that the latest shot still suck.

That is why I never put in placeholders. I wait till the last day or two and put something in. Still have not decided on this month's yet, but then again there is still some shooting to do yet. :)

Hey basssman7, early congratulations on your round 2 win! I can't wait to see your 2 entries! Mine are stinking pretty bad (both at 5.6). The good news is I won't have to battle my DPCO teamate limerick! She is on fire right now as well! I'm looking forward to that round 3 battle for sure!

As far as your averages question above, I'm curious too. If it is only for the challenges where we were officially battling in round 2 then I'll for sure not get a round 3 invite for highest average. If they next couple of challenges count (light on white, skin/sp, free study) then theoretically I could bring my average up.

Anyway, good luck to you both in round 3 (but especially Agnes). Go Agnes Go.

Mark, ( mpeters ) looks like you'll get the next round. I'm still hoping my Calendar shot makes it to average.

Congrats in advance!

I'm in all of the next four... Puzzled, Light on White, FS, and Skin

What are you in for our tie to end?

Right now I'm only in FS(but it's weak :-) ) I may change out my FS entry but that will definitely be our tiebreaker as it is starting tomorrow.

Thanks Jason.

As of right now my Action shot is a new PB at over 7.3, and my Calendar is a solid 6.97...so I am pretty happy with that. :)
I am not sure how I will do against Agnes, because she and I like the opposite kinds of challenges. My favourite is the FS because you can enter anything you want, and they are always my highest scoring of the month. (well, except this month likely) My weakness is always the open entries in mid-week because the subject matter generally does not suit me and the basic editing. However I am also in the DPCO so I am kind of forced to enter the open entries right now..which she will have an edge on me in. Since there is no "highest loser" for round 3 that could put me out for good...but I am certainly not going to give up the ghost just yet.

Since our two challenges have to finish before the next round starts, I would anticipate my round 3 not beginning till the open challenges which are anounced this coming wednesday, although that is obviously up to Soulman to decide. Whatever it is, it has been fun so far.

Well, then I'll just congratulate you now on that, too! :)

You haven't had under a 6 on a FS in over a year... and I rarely make a 6 in a FS.

*sigh*

I hope you go on to win the entire Head To Head, Mark!

I hit 5.5 if I'm lucky on FS.

Ok then basssman7 its on. hahah. (thanks for the nice compliments jasonlprice). I "hope" the next round of challenges to come up are good. I really dont like those that are up now.

No I dont like free studies. It wouldnt count anyway for the h2h I dont think? Not sure since it ends tomorrow I think? I think the opens will be what we have to work with here on Wednesday.

Im ready and raring to go!

hmmmm... I was going to shoot light on white but even if I get in, wouldn't the FS score count? The only way to keep the FS score from counting is if I don't enter. I'm expecting <6 on this months FS but maybe DPC will surprise me! Thanks for the well wishes, although premature IMO! :)

Yes, I think that's correct. Do as you will, Mark... I'm destined to fall out on one or the other and it makes no difference which one to me! *smile*
