I've been thinking about the timings of the round 2 matches a bit. The way I'd envisaged it to start with is this: let's say the Ansel Adams/Glasses challenge results give you your 2nd point, and your prospective round 2 opponent wins their match with the same challenge (or they've already won their match). Then you've got a round 2 pairing and your match can begin immediately. I had planned that the first challenge that would count for that match would be the first challenge(s) announced after that which, as it'll be Wednesday morning, will mean the two open challenges posted on that Wednesday will count.

But, in the interests of making sure this tournament has a winner by Christmas (2010) ;-) I did half decide to allow any challenges that have been posted but haven't yet started voting at that point to count. This will mean whatever the member's challenge posted on Monday is would count, which will still have 5 days of submission left at that point.

I could also allow the Silence/Sound challenges to count for that same match, as they start voting at the same time as the Round 2 match begins. I'm hesitant about this as it would mean that a pic you submitted before your round 2 match started, potentially before you even had a clue even who you were playing in round 2 (or if you qualify as a highest-ranked loser before you even knew you were in round 2), would count towards round 2 for you.

I will count the Jan Free Study towards any round 2 matches that start by Jan 31.

If anyone has any thoughts on that paragraph in italics then put them forward and I'll clarify before the first round 2 match(es) begin, which will potentially be on Monday.

I dont really care which challenges count at this point or dont. I wouldnt change my entry or anything just because I knew my partner would be a certain person. I am going to enter my best either way to make sure at least my average stays up there in case I lose. Hahaha. If you are starting it on Monday then the opens should count since the deadline is on Tuesday? But I am good with whatever you decide.

Yes. Im in single tree and expect to be in silence and am working on a free study. Im ok with the tree picture I have. Its not what I wanted but its ok.(I just changed it. I cant decide on one).

My free study I am hoping to change and silence I am excited about. Hope to get the picture for that on Monday or latest Tuesday which will be my last chance and my last try.

My glasses right now is close to a 5.6
My personality we wont talk about..hahaha.

~~If any round 2 matches start tomorrow, then the Sound/Silence challenges will count for the those, as will the Jan Free Study, but not the Single Tree.~~

Marc, hows your personality? Sadly I don't think I'll get a tree shot today, am in work still. I've broken through the 5.8 barrier now so hoping that will be enough to carry me through?

Nope. Silence only. :=) I should say either sound or silence. I am in silence tho.

I will say to that single tree is going to be more of a location challenge to me. You being Australia and me being in Kentucky I think you have more of the advantage because you have more species of trees and probably more interesting ones. I think we should go with a challenge that is going to be more about creativity then location or landscape. For that I think we should go with the opens. Do you think so?

What I wrote is I will enter my tree and you can enter silence...and those scores will compete against each other. There is no rule to say that we have to be in the same challenge....agree?

I mean that Tree is advanced editing and the open would be basic editing. But if you want I will do your tree against my silence but I would like to share our tree scores (mine and yours) for fun anyway. Sorry. I should have explained that better.
