This will be my first trip to London and other then trying to get to the typical touristy stuff I wanted to know if you can get good shots from the London Eye through the glass. If so what times would be better for lighting.

Oh I fly this afternoon and I already know that tomorrow is supposed to be fogged in. Hopefully the weather on the weekend will be fair.

I've not done it myself, but judging from the pics on Panoramio, you can get some good shots.

The weather isn't looking too bad.

I took these 4 years ago with a point and shoot, they are all straight out of the camera as I had no idea what photoshop was those days!

I believe the best way to shoot through glass is have the lens as close as possible ... I think I read a polarizing filter helps as well but I could be wrong on that one

I got some pretty good shots from the London Eye when I visited London in September, I went up in it practically as soon as they opened, that way the sun is to your back if you are shooting towards Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, etc. Here are a few quick edits:

I've managed to get on for twilight a couple of times. Light is pretty good then.
