I was thinking about the new year and was hoping to bump up my average for next year. Perhaps some new stats would help me track it.

Avg Vote Received Lifetime: 5.0706
Avg Vote Received 2009: 5.2706
Avg Vote Received 2008: 4.8987
....

While we are at it, how about some percentage stats, which I have always thought were a better indication of photographic prowess.

Avg Percent Finish Lifetime: 51%
Avg Percent Finish 2009: 67%
Avg Percent Finish 2008: 28%
...

I don't see any stats as an indication of photographic prowess, but merely as an indication of how well we play this particular game, using photography as a game piece.

You are of course correct. How about "Avg Percent Finish a more meaningful measure of how well you do at DPC than Avg Vote Received"

It's kind of hard for me to use any stats for this game as meaningful. I try to use all the stats as well as interpreting the received comments to give me some idea of how I am doing. I enter a lot of gag images that I know will score low even if they are decently photographed. I also know my photography has improved, but the averages don't show it. I think it's that "broad appeal" thing getting in the way again.
