I thought this shot had some good potential to it, I liked how the stones gave two storng diagonals towards the upper left and right side of the frame. I also thought that the texture of the stones and the slight holes in the paint gave some interest in the photo throughout. The lighting in the upper right was bright enough to attract my attention there first before exploring the photo, and felt if the lighting were more even throughout the entire photo it would accenuate the textures better and not have given the white rock parts the overglow that currently apprear on them in the back upper right. |

My first thought was cornmeal on the rocks. Then I thought, why would someone do that. I think the image may have done better in the event there was more of a ditinct subject. For me I look at the yellow, then the rocks, yellow, then the rocks, but there is no place for my attention to settle. Though, I must say, I enjoy looking at the cornmeal (paint). I think some saturation might have been in order as well to make the image pop a bit more. |
