The Comcast rep gave me a link to request that the blocked domain be unblocked. I submitted the form and I sent an admin ticket to Langdon requesting that he do the same as well. If any of you guys want to submit the form too, here it is: //www.comcastsupport.com/forms/net/BlockedProvider.asp

The domain is of course dpchallenge.com, and the blocked IP address is 78.158.93.68 (the IP of dpc1.dpchallenge.com, the DPC mail server).

For those of you with this problem, here is a quick work around for the time being. I had this problem with verizon and it took a long time to work out even with Langdon's help. Open a gmail account (or if you have one already, direct your dpc mail there), then forward your gmail to your account that is not working with pm's and it will come through. I use outlook, so it doesn't matter where the email goes to, it all still ends up in outlook.

Oh, I forgot to suggest that.

I changed my DPC email to gmail. That fixed my problem, but what about the person who I am trying to PM who has no idea I need to contact him? Why did comcast change all of a sudden?

Hmm - going to have to go back to old fashioned technology..telephone.

Your ability to pm has nothing to do with your own email server. Your pm's are going out, though the person you may be trying to reach may not be getting their pm's because of their email server.

Even if DPC gets un-blocked by Comcast, I can pretty much guarantee that it'll get blocked again for no apparent reason at some point down the road. Comcast is absolutely ridiculous when it comes to blacklisting things. Our company's e-mail server gets blocked... we fight with them to get it unblocked, which lasts for a short period of time, and *poof* it gets blacklisted again.

And good luck getting to talk to a person who can give any indication as to *why* a certain server would be blocked.

My strong advice to anyone using Comcast is to set up a free account somewhere else and use it. I would strongly suspect that you're routinely missing mail from friends, etc., due to their overboard controls. Can you tell I'm not one of their biggest fans?

Just got a response from comcast. ip 78.158.93.68 is not being blocked by comcast?

They're full of Comcasticness. They're blocking it. Did I mention I'm not a fan?

I got one that they removed the block, so they probably looked at your request after mine (and it had already been removed). I am now receiving PMs at my comcast email address successfully, and you guys should be able to as well. However, Alan has a good point. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they block DPC again before too long.

Sent test PMs to Juliet and Joe.

LOL, I use outlook, too, so I guess I'm just really not getting any PMs. LOL, oh well, I'll just go curl up in my bed with my dog. HE loves me.
