I'm reading the manual for my new camera, and here are just a few of my favorite lines from the "How to Prevent Serious Injury and Death" section:
"Do not use any home-made or modified batteries."
"Do not insert any foreign metallic objects into the electrical contacts of the camera, accessories, connecting cables, etc."
"If a child swallows the battery, contact a physician immediately. (Battery chemicals may harm the stomach or intestines.)"
"During the recharging, keep the equipment away from the reach of children. The cord can accidentally choke the child or give an electrical shock."
"Do not fire the flash at someone driving a car. It may cause an accident."
"Do not use the equipment where there is flammable gas. This is to prevent an explosion or fire."
"Keep the camera from the reach of small children. The neck strap can accidentally choke the child."
"Do not leave a lens or lens-attached camera under the sun without the lens cap attached. Otherwise, the lens may concentrate the sun's rays and cause a fire."
The last one is my favorite - I wonder how often that happened before they put a warning in the manual? |

| If they stop posting this information, perhaps these stupid people will take themselves out of the gene pool. Lawyers have taken away the urge to be self responsible. Why take watch out for yourself if you might be able to sue someone! |

| Do not take pictures while operating a motor vehicle. A serious injury may occur to both the driver and passengers. |

| Do not take spouse or partner while doing street photography. He or she might disappear forever. |

Sorry, I do this all the time. :-(
About this one:
"Do not fire the flash at someone driving a car. It may cause an accident."
I wonder if that applies to red-light traffic enforcement cameras ... |

But at least now you've been notified that this activity could be hazardous to your health. ;) |

My two favorites in the manual for my external flash:
--Do not apply a strong shock to a battery or throw it.
--Do not immerse batteries in water, or expose to moisture including rain, seawater, and animal urine.
There must be an interesting story behind that one
Edit for typos

"if you accidently drop the camera/lens/flash from a bridge/roof/cliff/tower/cruise-ship, resist the urge to dive after it"

"Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball"
"If Happy Fun Ball begins to smoke, seek shelter and cover head." |
