Okay, so I've decided that I need to learn basic editing skills. For free.

I downloaded Seashore, which is like GIMP without a need for x11.

Does anybody have any experience editing with this program?

What are the first things I should learn how to do with editing software in order to improve my shots?

I feel very overwhelmed with this whole editing concept. Any advice for a novice, particularly with reference to Seashore, is very much appreciated.
