LOL! We occasionally look at each other's potential entries and give an opinion on which to use, or sometimes suggestions, with the understanding that we won't vote on the entry.

I gotta say this......

For many years, I avoided going to The Wall in D.C.

Too damn many of my friends' names are on it, and I knew it would be really hard to be there with their spirits.

Finally, after many years, I broke down and made the journey.....not that it's far away, or that I haven't made the two hour trek to D.C a zillion times.

It was one of the most beautiful, yet painful moments of my life.

For so many years, it seemed like my friends died in vain, for a reason nobody cared about, and didn't appreciate.

Yet this young lady from Montana managed to capture, in this man's moment with a friend, all of the emotions that come tumbling down on you....when you find his name.

Catherine....you are really something special.

I gotta tell ya......I would, but I'd be afraid to hang it because It would tear me up every time I looked at it.

It's funny, but an image that I saw very early on when I was here evoked some powerful emotions for me, and I ended up with a very deep, personal relationship with a young man who ended up being a mentor for me.....and responsible for much of the vast improvement I've shown since.

Yours moved me as much, in a slightly different and closer way.

When you touch someone deep at their core by capturing emotion.....you've done something incredible.

I really admired Katherine's photo when I viewed, for the clear empathy with her subject, and for the incredible emotion captured. Only now do I fully understand the picture, as I hadn't realised the significance of the setting.

Yeah, I lost a bunch as well. Probably some sort of karmic reset that happens on occasion, though it's kind of annoying...

I lost a bunch both given AND received - about 200 given and about 50 received.
