I doubt that is the user's real name. I suspect he's a fan. :-)

Just turned my Best of score back on - and wish I hadn't! At 100 votes when I turned it off it was sitting at a very healthy 6.3something, 118 votes later it is sub 6. Ah well, it's only a game;¬}

Hey, can someone who's won one of the nifty Posthumous ribbon thingies tell me how I get it on my profile page?
01/22/2009 02:16:01 PM · #1232
I did a copy and paste into photoshop, then put it in my workshop or somewhere (maybe my portfolio), then used the insert image thingy. LOL! There might be an easier way, but I couldn't figure it out.

I haven't won it, but it's the same for any kind of image you want. Right click on the image in your comments where he gave it to you and click "copy image location.." then open your preferences, go to your profile bio section and use the "Insert Image" icon to bring up the dialog box and paste what you copied in there.

hmmm--can you not just use the ID number and post it in the same manner as when posting a thumbnail in a thread? dunno--never won one :-)

You might be able to if it's hosted in their portfolio outside of the workshop. Not sure if it still works in the workshop.

Of course, if it's not hosted on DPC, then hot-linking is kind of bad too, if you think you're going to get a million profile hits.

sorry, the ribbon's not in my portfolio so you can't thumb it. I really should do that.

another thing you can do is hit "quote" on one of my ribbon announcements. Then copy and paste the [ img ] ... [ / img ] part.

Yes, putting the little gif thingie in your portfolio somewhere would probably be a good thing. :-)

Figuring out how to post the gif is part of the penance you must pay for winning the award.

{img}//blackyak.com/dpc/yellowpost.jpg{/img}

with square brackets instead of the squiggley ones, gives:

I strongly suspect that changing the 'yellowpost' part of the link to, say, 'redpost' or even 'bluepost', might have some strange effect.

It worked, I think. :-)

Sho' nuff.

That's congrats for licking and sticking as well as congrats for winning it then.

:)

It's a little too entropic to be classically geometric, but all geometry is is a mathematical order of shape and line, so I'm sure someone would find it as such. Not sure what the other term you're looking for would be really. So many out there that could apply. hehe.

Roget's thesaurus is good.
You can apparently get all sorts of things on line, but I have a Penguin book version which I recommend. Actually, I have two, as I sort of wore the first one out :-)
