I'm not sure if my entry sucks sufficiently or not. 7th last.

I came in 7th from last in the regular FS. But I didn't get any 10's. LOL!

I can't remember what I said in my last update post on my mom so here's a new one. I think I'll start at the beginning. Diagnosed with uterine cancer, had surgery, got infection from surgery which went into her artificial knee joint, heart went into afibulation so they had to correct that, had another surgery in which they removed the artificial knee joint and put in an antibiotic/cement spacer, developed a 8 lb. cyst in her abdominal area from all the fluids they were pumping into her, they decided to leave it because it wasn't doing anything harmful, went to rehab for 2 weeks and we had her all packed to come home when the cyst started pressing on her kidneys causing her unbearable pain, went back into the hospital (actually she never left, she was just in a different area), had to have the cyst drained. SHE IS NOW HOME after a month in the hospital. But now she has to get into the car and go to radiation everyday (with no knee). She never complained at all! Please send thoughts and prayers to her! She is in great spirits and her diagnosis is very good. After shes done with the cancer treatment, she can have her knee replaced.

Prayers for her, and you of course. And how wonderful of you to be there with her now. That is awesome.

I'm glad she's doing so much better Terry! I bet she's so excited to be home! Still sending love from here!

Terry, that your Mum is in such good spirits despite what she is going through is wonderful, and inspiring too. I am sure that it must be in part down to the support you are giving her, which will be in part as a result of the way in which she brought you up - uhoh, heading for vaguely philosophical thought, which is never a good idea with me...

Katherine, $100 is fantastic! I would be over the moon to have something published, but to be paid for it - and un-asked for at that - is superb. Keep shooting!

Terry you and your mother have all the thoughts and prayers I can muster and I do hope she recovers well and soon.

Keeping you close to my heart and in my thoughts and prayers.

All the best to you and yours.

This is the Christmas card I ended up with for family. I'm wimping out and using boxed cards for friends. But this is also for my DPC family, so enjoy!

I'm very disappointed with some of the Fill Flash entries. Clearly, there are quite a few people who think that Fill Flash is the same as Flash photography. Some have gone for backlit, others just taken a normal flash photo, but there are some really good shots that meet the challenge.

Is it just me, or are more people just entering anything that remotely fits??

Are they scoring high? Or am I just a sad old git with nothing else to moan about??

I have a 3.6. But then I expected it, even though I actually did use my flash for effect rather than as just a flash. The problem with my entry is no one knows what it is. It's not pretty and shiny, well maybe kind of shiny. LOL!
