I feel stupidly frenzied to be even typing this.. but I just want to see how many guys here like South Park. I am watching an episode right now.. and its wickedly hilarious.. Cartman has started a business to exact revenge on the parents that dont respect their kids.. and the last one was about saving America from China:-) SouthPark is among the very few comedy shows that make me go ROTFLMAO.. others being Sienfeld...Scrubs and the likes.

P.S. I am expecting a lot of 'What The...' responses, but I hope I hear from at least some awesome SouthPark fans:-)

I found South Park to be very unfunny. I really gave it a go when it first came out, but I laughed only once in the first five episodes. The Simpsons were/are much better.

South Park slays me. The humor is crude, often juvenile, but effing hillarious, and it is very topical. I'm actually about to watch last week's episode online right now.

I actually have an Armenian friend who thinks each episode of south park has a message. These messages are to be pondered like a burning bush. Fwiw, I see them too sometimes. Its interesting or I have too much philosophical time on my hands.

We actually lend ourselves to Futurama more than anything else. Its just more sophisticated humor than SP (yeah my wife doesnt like SP). But there is crassness mixed in as well. New episodes are coming sunday.

All that said, yes Kyles mom is a big fat b!+ch.

From "hankey the christmas" poo on, South park has just gotten cruder and funnier. Its the sort of comedy you cant watch with your kids, they watch in the other room so both of you can laugh at things you shouldn't laugh at. I think Beagleboy used to sign with " You will respect my athori-tay". Besides any show that annoys scientology, and is facing a ban in Putin's Russia can't be all bad

my favorite shows are SP and clerks. SP for its sarcastic humour and the often obvious political messages and clerks...well clerks is just effin hilarious (probably not everyones cup o tea tho).
my favorite SP episode is the one in which some people form the future travel back in time because the world is really overpopulated and crappy by then and they take over poeple's jobs and the southparkers are like "Dey took er Jerbs!" all the time...ROFL

They should make a South Park episode about DPC. It seems like such a natural.

Now that I think of it... maybe they've been doing that all along. ;)

I like Southpark, but I rarely watch TV, so don't see it much. Most of what I see on TV is what my wife puts on, and she thinks Southpark is offensive and stupid. (My acid test for humor is that if my wife finds it offensive, then it is funny.) Once you get past the gutter humor, there is a lot of biting social commentary in the show.

South Park humor is one that you either hate, or you love. I dont think there are people that "tolerate it". The humor is crude and usually can be offending depending on if you are the overly sensitive type or not.

This Youtube video will test if you can or cannot be a fan. May Not suit all viewers.

Matt

ETA I totally expect this post to kill the thread. :D

For the longest time, I thought South Park was horribly unfunny. Then I actually watched an entire episode. I love the show now. The Easter episode with "The Hare Club for Men" cracks me up. It's amazing what they get away with on the show.

See thats the kind of crude humor that gets to people and the show gets away with it too:-) I have realised that sometimes I just need to laugh without exploring my conscience or thinking too hard. SP gives me one such vent. In all fairness.. if you start judging SP, you wont find it funny. Just take it as it is.. without any filter.. and let your guts guide you on a journey that renders you breathless;-)

ETA: I also read somewhere (sorry I forget the reference) that SP is a stress reliever for many..because people see themselves relating to some surreal actions that they normally wont do in real life. Ehehhh
