I went with some folks from my Sunday school class to a zip line adventure course in New York, TX on Saturday. It was simply an amazing sight to behold. I didn't work up the courage to zip myself...besides, I had to photograph the event for posterity's sake! ;) I'll zip the next time I go because I think it must be an exhilarating experience! My friends loved it. I thought I'd share the pics and a slide show I did for them when I got home last night.
Anyone ever go zip lining? Any photo tips for my next trip? :)

If any local folks want to plan a photo excursion, this is a definite site to put on your "to shoot" list. :)

Not too far from D/FW. Looks like fun! My wife would freak out, though. |

I was freaking out and I didn't even zip! I don't do heights well, so I feel the need to go to help conquer that fear. The scenery was just breathtaking, though. The owners say that on a clear day, you can see 30 miles or more. It's the highest elevation in east Texas.

Looks like fun and I would be all over that. Great pics too, loved a lot of your stuff, not just the zip line shots!

My wife and I went on our first zip line tour in August taking the Ziptrek Eagle Tour at Whistler BC. It was their intermediate run and was scary at first but after the first run a real blast taking 5 zip lines, the longest about 2000 feet and one flipping upside down. I took a lot of video and some P&S shots but didn't take the DSLR along, though after doing it I realize I easily could have done so. Your shots are really good, documenting the whole process from prep to end. |
