I think Obama is the one to get everyone (both inside and outside the US) thinking better of the US.

Change is coming.

Call me a wuss... but I watched this with moisture in my eyes. And no I am not black.

I had my happy tears, too.

Good to know I wasnt alone. Although I saw many others on the TV hiding it all:-)

Well now that the speech is over, I can say in all calmness this was the most connecting speech I have ever heard in my lifetime. He was reading our minds, and making us say it, and then believe in it.

I am proud to have seen this day.

Well here in the UK it's nearly 5:30am and it's the first time I've been awake at rollover! I stayed up all night to watch the day's events unfold and I'm so glad I did. A superb electoral performance from the Democrats and a stunning speech from Obama. Congrats to all the US members on DPC on your new president!

Well the fairness doctrine will make it unfair and therefore slowly non-existent.. change will definitely come

If anything, it will flourish, ranting, raving and spewing vitriol against the Dems as it did under Clinton.

I wonder if this thread still belongs to the 'Rant' section? Look at all these reactions coming from all across.. guys who have Rant on hide are missing all this:-)

Dont know if I should say this.. but right before Obama's speech, two Fox News guys were digging his memoirs looking for racial remarks from the time when he was still young. I want to believe that I heard it wrong.

ew, if the republican talk radio in Kentucky was any indication of what it was around the rest of the US, then I hope it disappears soon.

wow, change is coming if you're right, I'm not advocating libel and slander if that was the case in Kentucky, but wait a minute, didn't I hear about freedom of speech in something called the bill of rights?

I guess some were too busy baa baaing to see the fact that I said I didn't agree with his policies and they aren't the reason I'm voting for him.

Oh well.

I understand why you voted for him.

I just don't think that's the way to break away from 2 party rule.

Actually, it's the only way.

If he got 5% of the popular vote then the Libertarians would receive the same funding as the dems and repubs along with a podium at the debates in 2012. I don't see any other feasible way, do you?

I couldn't live with myself had McCain won and I had voted for a 3rd party candidate.

I had to stay up and listen to that great speech. Great, great speech. The network I was watching showed a close-up of an emotional Jesse Jackson -- it made me teary-eyed, too. And then Obama, Biden, and their wives were glowing. Wow.

Truly an emotional moment in my life. I'm thrilled to say I was a part of it and a witness to it. Ditto the WOW!
I hope that we ALL (beyond the borders of the United States included) will benefit from our historic choice for the 44th President of the United States.
Yes We Can!

Lol, the election's finally over but we can't get away from it for another two weeks, between shooting for, and voting on, red and blue challenges!

eta; does this mean there'll be over 300 blue entries and under 200 red?

Well, I was really just talking about one station in particular that screamed anti-Obama and hung up on any legitimate questions from Obama supporters. I just spoke out of context.

I didn't mean to sound like I wanted republican talk radio to disappear... just that one. LOL

No pardon though. That's what the original statement was referring to. My bet stands. :)

Although she was never convicted, I think he should pardon his mother for giving birth to him. It is a great feeling knowing that we are finally going to be rid of him, But I am going to miss the jokes and impersonations.

Don't worry, i'm sure Obama will supply many laughs and Biden many bad quotes. Sarah Palin isn't going to go away so esaily either.

Plop - plop - fizz- fizz - Oh what a relief it is ...

It's like I've had a bad case of indigestion for 8 years and someone finally passed me the Alka-Seltzer!

Just got back from a victory party and it feels so good that even though our nation is in the toilet we now have a chance to begin the long climb out. Hope the world is patient with us.
