Given your support for a candidate whose campaign was largely run by lobbyists and who had personally lobbied Congress on more than one issue, it sounds like you're trying to pounce on something that you didn't really care about as if it suddenly matters. Nope. Just attaching the hypocracy label where it fits. Ironic that those who have historically posted about the evil lying Bush admin now have caught religion and are defending the practice. That's all. No surprises on my end.
Here's anonther non-surprise for me. (but it is from Hannity and Colmes/Fox so will not receive a "hearing" here) |

| A kind of straw man. Your representation of people's views here is worse than egregious. You're actively suggesting that people are willfully defending lying. Your argument skills are as creaky as ever. As already pointed out, there can be no hypocrisy where the terms are defined correctly. Just re-read freakin_hilarious' post. Did you consider the case to go to war with Iraq "a little unimportant misstep" or was it a major breach of trust? If it was a breach of trust - what made it so? The lying?
For the record - I find lying in specific circumstances perfectly acceptable. What is not acceptable is for those who criticize some for lying (Bush) while defending their own (Obama) of the same sin/action. Unless you believe there is a distinction of gravity. If so, please share the criteria so I will not infringe on your time with unimportant misstep postings. |

Let's see... they're upset because Obama voters knew the Obama talking points but not the McCain talking points?
And they think the voters thought Republicans were in control of Congress because the media told them so? Gee, I can't recall the media telling me that since 2006. In fact, I remember it being quite a story when the control switched.
And he would pay anyone to get the same results from McCain supporters? Jay Leno gets those results from random people on the street all the time. It's already well-documented that Americans are frighteningly ignorant. The thought that McCain supporters wouldn't be just as ignorant is laughable. |

Man, the unsettling thing about this is that I have neighbors who only get their news from Fox, are otherwise 'normal' conservatives, and they are seriously 100% convinced that Obama is a secret Muslim. They really funny/scary part of it is that when I tried talking some reason into their paranoid heads they said the only reason I'm defending him is because I'm an atheist. As IF atheists would prefer Muslims to Christians? I think there is a segment of society that is in for a real shock when they find out Obama's not really a terrorist after all. Of course, I could be the one who's wrong here :P |

Did I miss the bit that says you can't be a Muslim and president of the US ?
I know you can't be an atheist and hold office in some states, but still. |

LOL, I could easily come up with 2,000 interviews with people voting McCain here in Utah. Not that I'm a betting man, but safe bet would be I could come up with at least 10% that make the monkeys seem like PHDs.
