Hello. I'm in the market for a relatively cheap, easy to carry, simple performing Point & Shoot for those family outings and drunk-fests and all those fun things where carrying around a massive DSLR simply isn't very fun.

I've narrowed the choice down to two cameras:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3

and

Nikon Coolpix S210

I like the S210 because it's the size of a credit card, is super thin, and is below the 8MP max that I kind of wanted.

However, I like the DMC-FS3 because it has image stabilization.

The Panasonic is $20 more than the Nikon, but is also slightly bigger.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with either of these cameras, or can give me some pros and cons based on the brands themselves that might help me decide? I'm so darned out of the loop when it comes to point and shoots, and I've never used any cameras from either company before.

Thank you in advance if you have anything to offer.

Image stabilization is critical for drunk-fest photography.

Um... yeah, that's all I got. Good luck.

Would it help if I mentioned I can get the Nikon in Purple?

But.....but.....You're K10DGuy....shouldn't you be looking at Pentax (not Nikon and Panasonic). Although even then it might be just plain wrong....because it wouldn't be a K10D....and you are K10DGuy... not S210Guy or DMC-FS3Guy.

My 2cents- I've always like the Nikon P&Sr's- sharp optics good color. On the other hand IS is pretty sweet, and considering you'll probably be doing much more hand holding of a P&S- the IS might sway it for me.

Purple for the win, seriously my favorite color!

I tried looking up fujifilm, they have some that are nice, but none have IS, but some in your budget have 5x zooms. and some are pretty flat.

This might help.
