Thank you for the links! I will check those before I do any scoring.

From The Brothers Grimm -
The script presents a unique interpretation of the Brothers Grimm who travelled through Germany and other countries performing field research for their linguistic work. A by-product of this research was a series of stories which they had collected in their travels and eventually published as a collection of authentic German fairy tales. These included Cinderella, Tom Thumb, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, The Frog Prince, The Gingerbread Man and Snow White.
From Fairy Tale Homepage -
Our next stop is at Ziegenhain/Schwalmstadt. Capital city of the Red Riding Hood Land.
Local costumes are still worn everywhere.
The red caps worn by unmarried girls on their heads were taken by the Brothers Grimm as a model for their Little Red Riding Hood.red riding hood |

I may be in for the brown unless this is just the usual gang of early low voters. My artistic genius is just not appreciated here.

Not worth posting my score - but I love the 42 views / 13 votes. I hope it is the same people looking at it and not people looking and not finding it worthy to vote LOL |

Looks as though I am going to be be penalized for a spelling error.
Why Have so many called their photo "Little Red Riding Hood" No.20, in my research is called "Little Red Cap." I do not believe The Brothers Grimm titled their tale Little Red Riding Hood.
The title of your entry should be the title of the tale it is based on.

Let's put it this way, if your scores are penalized because of the title (which by the way, according to my research says that Little Red Riding Hood or Little Red Cap, are still recognized as Brothers Grimm stories), then something is terribly amiss in this site and the voting/voters! Let's hope that's not the case and there are more voters in here with sense. :) |

I'm not going to post my score in here at the moment either but, let me say that I am hoping to find a different story throughout this week because IF the scoring tonight is representative of the rest of the week's scoring...it's really sad. Let's hope that these scores are simply grumpy, tired, rushed overnight voters. :( I worked HARD on this shot. I took a LOT of time and effort and energy and it's one of my best. My score thus far is not showing that. SIGH |

I have one comment wich reaaly nails the tale, even though the commenter doesn't refer to it! Mission accomplished :)

I'm getting slammed and from the one comment the reason would be that the title is being taken to literrly represent the image.
The challenge details are "Visit the child in you this week and submit a photograph that depicts a scene or character based on/taken from one of Grimm's Fairy Tales. The title of your entry should be the title of the tale it is based on."
For example, the title may be "Little Red Riding Hood" but the picture may be a wolf. That's not my image but you get the idea.

I wish people would look up the fairy tales before they voted... and not leave comments about whether people have chosen an actual fairy tale... |

I'm having a hard time voting. Some have a fitting title to the photo, but have nothing to do with the tale by the same name. I also did some research and Sleeping Beauty was written by Charles Perrault whereas the Brothers Grimm wrote Briar Rose, a similar story. :~)

ouch!I just dropped .16 with three votes. :(
I know what I did wrong with my photo, but I hope I am not getting penalized to badly for it. It's just a minor technicality. :P

The brothers didnt write many (if any) of the stories. They collected existing stories together, some of which are similar and have many names.
I have spent a lot of wiki time today while voting!!
Good job everyone that entered, there are some really fab shots. And i have voted on every single one of them -

Shouldnt we concentrate on the quality of the picture??? isnt that what this site is about? please give me a break, little red riding hood or the red cap, who cares? is the picture good? so judge the picture, not the spelling or the title. |
