My portrait skills definitely leave something to be desired....but here is today's attempt...The Lighthouse Clan

Seems like you don't need to be told so I won't tell you that this leaves much to be desired. I have trouble with group portraits too although I have very little experience. It's hard to get everyone motivated and all looking how you want them to. I think the best solution is to make it fun. Try shooting your next family portrait while you are doing something fun together as a family in a more interesting setting.

One quick tip -- go for a better background that doesn't compete for the eye. The three plants are distracting and don't add anything to the image anyway...

Yes, a nice solid colored wall would be a good place or a nice colored bed sheet.

Maybe next time I'll just stick em in front of a lighthouse ;)
