Hi all,

Comments and critique welcomed for this shot.
Im thrilled with an average of 5.3 considering the standards were so high.

I'd love to have used this but it was taken a day too early LOL!

The second photo you posted looks a bit oversharpened- you have a bit of the halo effect surrounding your subject, which I'm assuming is due to sharpening. Personally I like your entry more, although, as others have pointed out, I think a frontal view would be better. It also seems like things should be a little sharper, which is likely due to either the application of noise reduction or perhaps it just needed a little bit more sharpening, since a 1/2000 shutter should stop everything. Also, I wouldn't think noise to be a huge issue at only 400, so maybe you were a bit heavy handed? Anyway, I did like your entry a good amount in the first place. Great timing and you did a great job following the prompt for the challenge.

While were on the subject.
Did this deserve a 1 vote?

personally I dont think it did and I've seen a lot of excellent shots receive 1's.
Are there meanies out there in dpchallenge land?

Who knows. Look at the front page, even those get lots of 1'2, 2's and 3's. I have had my higest scoring vote finsh in the bottom 30% and I have given a ribbon winner a 3. It is all subjective.

- To someone, it did.

- Yes. However, most of the meanies aren't giving 1 votes :)

Don't worry so much about the anomalies in voting. They represent a miniscule fraction of your score. Pretend they don't exist, and you'll be much happier.
