I don't agree with Venser laying someone out over a rude comment, but....

Toronto has one of the largest gay populations in North America. I suspect that t-shirt is much less edgy in the Toronto neighborhood that Venser lives in than it would be in more provincial parts of North America. I'm not convinced be that Venser was really trying to be all that provocative.

From what I know of Venser, I'm pretty sure he was. ;) Look at it this way, how could the t-shirt possibly be funny if it wasn't edgy? If you really could raise your daughter gay it would be a t-shirt like "Mommy's little darling". The t-shirt is only funny because it IS provocative.

I just see it as someone brash enough to put that t-shirt on their daughter ran into someone brash enough to give them a piece of their mind about it (I mean, who really does either?). Pot meet kettle. Swearing ensues.

Are you serious?

You're both right and wrong at the same time for different reasons.

Did I look for a reaction? Yes.
Was I expecting a reaction? No. It should be a complete non-issue. Two dudes or chicks falling in love isn't one of them. Anyone who is bothered by this needs to get their priorities straightened.

The only reason I did what I did is because of the language used. Anytime someone says "make me", their chance to negotiate further has been cashed in and I proceed with the language they want to speak. Most people don't actually like to dance, so I have to show them a couple steps or two.

The t-shirt is funny because it's edgy. It's also singles out the bigots from the rest. Only numbnuts feel the need to open their mouths in front of the parents, sometimes to their detriment.

LOL. So in your mind the conversational chance to come to some understanding was not lost with "go fuck yourself", but with "make me"?

Frankly I think you both should have been put in timeout, but that's the way I raise my kids...

Can you imagine the scene if he had said: "Go fuck yourself" :O)

The sad part is these "pray away the gay" clinics is that they get medicare money. Michell Bachmann and her husband Marcus run one in Minnesota that has taken over $137,00 in federal aide.

On a side note, has anyone noticed how these guys who claim to cure the gay, use pictures of themselves that set off your gaydar? I don't know if they work at it to try to look approachable to men who have urges they do not care for, or if these guys are trying to look manly and this is as butch as they can go.

Mmmhmm. This is why we know without a doubt there are UFOs, fairies, ghosts, alien abductions and more! Lots of testimonials. ;)

In all seriousness though, the guy in the second video made some valid points mired in a whole lot of invalid ones. He seemed to confuse the possible effects of being gay in our culture as the fault of being gay. In other words, yes, he's right, some gay people do need help to deal with the depression, confusion, feelings of incongruity with their own beliefs, etc. All of that is completely valid. That still doesn't make being gay a mental disorder and doesn't mean doctors who say so are insensitive or trying to force you to have anal sex. He's a bit off his rocker on that point... But I'm assuming most on that site are.

Yes indeed... and when one considers the definition of "testimonial" it is doubtful that these outlandish claims would meet that criteria. :O)

I just watched the first video and read some of the written testimonials. Just watching a few seconds of the second video, he seems like he has a chip on his shoulder.

It seems interesting that there are people who have same sex issues and have overcame them.
