Honestly I've tried a couple of times to get this on my profile and all I keep getting is the text but no banner or jersey. Very frustraded. I will have my wife try soon.

I had a similar problem. The URL is actually 3 lines long under the properties tab but you only see two of them. When you copy and only get 2 lines it will not work. Just highlight and copy all of the lines and it will work fine. Let me know if you need any more help.

Chris, here's a FOOLPROOF method. I know, because I just had to use it. On the entry with the corrected banner, hit the quote button. The HTML code will be right there, with everything you need, and you don't even have to fool around with clicking anything else. I wish I would have realized that earlier, as it's WAY easier! lol

Then go to your preferences page, edit, then just copy that html in and save the change. If it doesn't work, I owe you a beer or other beverage!

ETA:
I also corrected the first post, and sent a new copy to DD.

Hey Nor'easters!

Sorry I've been a bit absent this week. The job thingy has been exceptionally crazy, and I haven't been doing much aside from that and sleep.

So in a few more days we'll be issued our first round challenges, and we'll start stomping those pesky southwesterners into the ground. Anybody have any questions that haven't been answered? Everybody figure out how to add photos to the flickr pool? Everybody have a camera?

If everybody can do me a favor and throw a post in here, I'll know that everyone is set to go.

Thanks to all!

Are we going to communicate both here and in the Flickr threads. Seems a little redundant.

What, I need a camera? Is a film one ok?

OK I finally have the banner and my jersey, thanks Jake, your way worked perfectly. As far as everything else goes I should be all set. I am assuming we will start the Olympiccs at rollover on the 16th. Can't wait.

I put some "risk" shots up on Flickr if anybody wants to check'em out. If anything stands out as not being as bad as the rest, give me a shout. :-)
09/15/2008 10:18:01 PM · #38
Thanks for all of the replies on my "risk" shots. For those of you on your first round of DPCO, I think you'll be pretty amazed at the value of having your team critique your submissions. For example, I put up 7 shots, and everyone that looked at them all chose the same shot as the best of the bunch. The KEY, is that it wasn't the shot that I personally thought was the best. Funny how that works out, but I figure if 6 other people liked it the best, the general population probably will to. Guess which one I'm going with? After i reedit of course! :-)

Posted the final version, along with the from the camera shot if anybody is interested.

Two threads you may or may not want to check out. Either way, here they are...

"The scoring system", or "The debate still rages on..."

This is a good one. Lots of links you'll want to have.

Here is some data I pulled out and posted in the alternate scoring thread. We are underdogs. Just where we want to be, that way they will not hear us coming!

-------------------

I could not help myself. Here is a summary or the teams averages. Sorry for the awful formating but tabs and spaces get stripped out.

Team------Total------ Average
ICE------ 49.42365333------ 6.177956667
Islanders------ 48.77164------ 6.096455
Poland------ 48.52608------ 6.06576
USA-EQ------ 46.73683------ 5.84210375
USA-SW------ 45.6939125------ 5.711739063
CAN-III------ 45.65195------ 5.70649375
GER------ 45.63447------ 5.70430875
CAN-I------ 44.82148------ 5.602685
USA-NW------ 44.76830583------ 5.596038229
USA-SE------ 44.53558------ 5.5669475
USA-MW------ 44.5156225------ 5.564452813
CAN-II------ 44.07357------ 5.50919625
UK------ 43.998835------ 5.499854375
USA-NE------ 43.15160667------ 5.393950833
AUS------ 42.71226111------ 5.339032639
MYS------ 42.67709------ 5.33463625

For the normal scoring I would says the 3 teams with the 6+ averages have to be considered the favorites. For the alternate scoring there should be no favorites, but I guess the low scoring teams have a little more head room.

And...We're off! I've started a thread on Flickr where we can share ideas on our first two challenges. If you wouldn't mind, lets remove all of the images you didn't enter in the "pre game" challenges so we can have a clean group pool to start with.

Go Nor'easters......Down with the Southwest!!!

Ok guys, I've got one edit up on flicr, check it out and let me know what you think.
09/22/2008 11:24:39 PM · #44
Hey all...

I posted some possibles for Color in B&W up in the flickr pool. Please let me know what you think, and if anything stands out.

Also a reminder that we need at least 5 entries for our scores to be counted, so if you've got something you want us to check out ahead of time, let's all take a gander for last minute C&C tomorrow. ;-)

Oh lord, did you guys see the new challenges!!!!! I don't even own a pair of "pajamas" so i don't know what the hell i'm gonna do with this one!! New thread on flickr...
09/24/2008 12:17:59 AM · #48
I generally do not photograph people (except snapshot type family photos) and pajamas seem a little lame and uninspiring. Ahh well, what can you do.

Itll be interesting to see if this is how things result in the DPCO. nice work.

Holy crap do I not want to talk about scores right now. If it stays this bad I may have to resign as Team Captain and turn in my camera to the authorities.

When y'all get a second can we clear everything but our entries out of the flickr pool. Also check out the cool place markers David was nice enough to make! I'm glad he did it, cause I was totally slacking on it and they wouldn't have been as cool. :-)
