A chip is not a crisp! I think you North Americans refer to chips as French Fries - goodness only knows why, 'though. |

Potatoes that have been julienned or "frenched" in the vernacular of the day, and fried -- makes perfect sense. Where did you lot ever come up with chips? |

Long time ago, someone had a potato frozen against umm a rock, and had to chip off pieces of the potato to cook it, hence... chips... but this displeased the queen because they were funny looking so she ordered all the cooks to make them uniform, but left the name the same. Yeah, this is how it happened, really, I was there! |

LOL - one thing I will give the Brits, they are a lot more creative in their crisp flavors.
