I searched the forums and couldn't find what I was looking for.
I shoot everything in RAW w/ AdobeRGB for the most part and edit with Photoshop. When I have to export something to JPEG how do I get around the contrast and saturation loss that occurs? The photo lab I go to (according to them) only accepts JPEG files. Is that typical? But when using JPEGs I lose quite a bit of the quality of the photo.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Your lab may be using setting for sRGB, which is like a subset of Adobe RGB, you need to convert to sRGB prior to sending them off. (If this what the lab is set up for.) Same thing can happen when posting online. The web browsers are usually set up for sRGB.

Ah ok. Well that makes sense. Thank you. |

Yes, the lab probably assumes your files to use the sRGB color space, but they don't. And then the colors are ruined. The same happens on the web. So you have to convert them to sRGB before saving and sending them to the lab.
This tutorial explains how to do it. |

Awesome! Thank you both so much. This really seems obvious once you say it, but it did not occur to me before that. Thanks again so much for the info. You have made my day.
