Stained Glass
This is the first of two batches of stained glass photos from my church. I wasn't able to complete the stained glass shots in the time I had available today. There will be 20-30 more in the near future...

| Very impressive. Also impressive is the consecutive numbers. Don't you ever have any bad shots? I take 10 photos, delete 9, take 10 more, delete 9...load 2, delete 2, start over... |

A lot to like with these -- even the display tool works to the stain glasses' advantage (as I pass my cursor over the thumbnails they "light up") You've done a great job on the exposure and the consistancy of light/color/size. I only spotted one (maybe two) that were not perfectly square to the frame ;) -- let's me know they're still a work in progress

Hahaha I was going to remark on how "subdued" the colors were until I clicked through to the full images. How were these lit? Exposure looks great, with colors that are both bright and saturated without looking gaudy. Stained glass can be very tricky; whatever you're doing seems like an effective technique. The best I've gotten was last month at the church where my polling place is ... just a snapshot at night from the outside with ambient interior lights ... original shot adjusted with tone curve |

These shots are relatively simple to do. I put my camera in aperture priority mode, matrix metering, and mounted the camera on the tripod. I used the cable release to fire all of the shots.
As to being 'square', well, the ones that aren't won't be in the future. There are a few where I had camera angle issues that can't be overcome.

You make it sound "easy" -- yes, I can understand the angle issue -- I assumed it was the glassmaker when I first saw them.
