It's amazing how "conservatives" are opposed to government regulation or interference with private enterprise except when they want a tax exemption or billion-dollar bailout -- sure glad we've kicked out all those welfare spongers though ... |
When the 'good old USA' rides in for a bail-out, I feel my pocket getting lighter.
Paris' approval rating couldn't be much lower than the clowns(both sides of the aisle)we have in Washington now. |
Yea, screw those guys, I'm voting for Britney. (Hmmmmm, I bet I could make a mint selling "Forget those other guys, I'm voting for Britney" and "Forget those other guys, I'm voting for Paris" T-shirts. or maybe "McCains right!! Vote for Paris" or maybe "Why can't McCain just leave Britney alone" Thats probably too long to make a good shirt. But in Decemember I'll have my line of "Don't blame me I voted for Paris" bumperstickers ready to roll.

It really blows my mind that when you say Barack Hussein Obama all the Libs freak out !
It is really kind of funny though.

This is totally uncalled for and a personal attack. |
How so????
His name is Barack Hussein Obama, is it not? And the Obamanation joke is really pretty funny. |

If you wanted to make that really funny, you could point out that (Ehud) Barak is the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Secretary of Israel. Or is that not threatening enough? |

Just to throw some more gasoline on this fire...
(from another forum I visit)
An e-mail from Ireland
An email from the Irish to all of their brethren in the States...a point to ponder despite your political affiliation:
'We, in , can't figure out why you people are even bothering to hold an election in the USA.
On one side, you had a pants-wearing female lawyer, married to another lawyer who can't seem to keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer, who goes to the wrong church, who is married to yet another lawyer, who doesn't even like the country her husband wants to run!
Now ... On the other side, you have a nice old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate 'Mc' terminology, married to a good looking younger woman who owns a beer distributorship !!
What in God's name are ya lads thinkin over in the colonies !

C'mon, people...these are politicians we're talking about (in a roundabout way through Paris Hilton). They are gonna do and say whatever they think you want to hear and whatever it takes to win the office. I mean, they're more crooked than a bag full of elbows!
Let's breakdown the word politics, shall we: poly, meaning many and tics, meaning bloodsucking parasites. ;-)
As for me, I'm patiently waiting for J. C. Watts to decide to run for President. Until then, it's just about deciding which is the lesser of two evils. :-/

Now thats the funniest thing I've read on this thread.

um, did you see any of the primary polls that came out in places like KY and WV? i'm not singling them out; i just distinctly remember reading those polls. hoo, boy. linky |
The vast majority of people seem to be, as Keith Olberman likes to call them, low information voters. So what ends up happening is people vote for the candidate that is more like them or how they perceive themselves to be. If you're an old white guy chances are you'll vote McCain. If you're a young African American (or any African American based on most polls) you'll vote Obama and if you're a woman you're screwed but before that happened Hillary was your candidate. Issues be damned.

I have heard many people criticize Obama for
- his middle name
- his last name
- his race
- his missing flag pin
- his former pastor
etc.
Plus there have been plenty of unfair lies that were actively spread.
None of this is about the issues. I can only conclude that McCain's team figured they couldn't win against Obama on the issues. So they try the good old mud slinging tactic instead. |

Say what you will, Paris has managed to grab some free advertising for Brand Paris and be humorous about it as well. That's some savvy marketing for her! :)
Too bad that at 27, she's not old enough to legally be President, but then again, I wouldn't have expected her to actually know that. |

I don't feel that Barak Obama likes the United States very much. This was an answer he gave yesterday when a 7 year old girl asked him why he wanted to be president. //www.youtube.com/watch?v=d667NAI9HIM Anyone who posted on this thread could have given a better answer than that. Paris Hilton seems like Einstein compared to Obama. |

Actually.... many uncontrolable spasms is a pretty good description for our politicians.
Does anyone else get the feeling that with all the SC hanging around this thread we're a heartbeat from "LOCKED". Although the thread has swayed much more back to its original course than I ever expected it to. I predicted it would get locked about a page back.

There's no reason for you to say that. We've given absolutely no indication that we're here to do anything except to join in the discussion along with everyone else. We're not just SC, we're also still members of the DPC community.

and I might add only a portion of his answer. sound bites you know. it is how the media (on both sides) can bias coverage. |

I'm sure many will take offense at this suggestion, but it's my belief that both of the major parties are really just two sides of the same coin... People in this country have become completely focused on this whole Red Team vs. Blue Team mentality. Doesn't it bother anybody that the major players in both big parties are essentially pushing in the same direction?! Both parties have disgraced our constitution in recent years. May I remind everyone that BOTH McCain and Obama voted for the recent FISA amendment and retroactive immunity for telephone companies that illegally handed over phone records to the government. Not to mention there was bipartisan support for both the U.S.A.P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act and the Military Commissions Act. Even Olbermann took notice - //www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEwKSQm8Z6o
People shouldn't be so obsessed with what "party" to vote for, but should instead research issues that actually matter to them and how each individual candidate stands on those issues. It shames me to think that most people in this country vote on a whim, for petty and irrelevant reasons. If we really want change, stop getting all your information from the mainstream media, turn off Dancing With The Stars, and research the issues for yourself! The number of personal freedoms that Americans have rolled over and given up in the name of "preventing terrorism" is sickening. As Benjamin Franklin famously quoted, "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Show me ANY quote that I can follow-up on that comes from McCain or his campaign talking heads that say anything negative about Obama's
Middle name
Last Name
His Race
They may have had a quote about the flag pin. Which doesn't matter to me.
I'm sure they must have said something about his "former" pastor. However, I feel that his "former" paster is fair game.
And...while we're on his "former" pastor...I have a feeling Hillery has something hidden on this issue that she may leak prior to the convention. Maybe even a video of BHO attending one of his "former" pastors sermon's where he grills Whites, America, Jews...etc....etc...

You should vote for the person that represents more of your "values" than the other guy.
For example...I haven't voted Democrat since I voted for Edwin Edwards over David Duke in the Louisiana Governor's race in the 80's (Edwin is in jail now)....
...however...I would surely vote for Demo/Independant Leberman for Prez over Obama or McCain !
