Hey hey - I just signed up for an R2D2 R1-C1 macro flash kit. I believe this comes with a set of rings for lens filter screw sizes 52/62, 67, 72 and 77 mm. Pretty neat, except that I'm likely to use a Sigma 105mm lens that has a 58mm thread.

Anyone else use this combination? What do you do (or what does your friend Dave do)?

Thank ee.

Step down ring would probably work.

Yup, step-down ring works perfect for me with my 105mm and that macro flash kit.

By the way... it's a pretty cool little kit. There's lots of fun toys in the case to play with. I was actually more impressed with the case than the flashes when I first opened the box, heh.

Good on y'all - thanks for the response(s).
tee hee - nothing like toys...

I'm all excited, except that I've got wind that the seller's unreliable, so it may all yet come to nowt (bites remaining stub of fingernail)

I hope it turns out well for you.

I love my little flashes. They have these cute little foot stands that I always have mine on. I actually rarely have them on the lens mount. Without fail though, when I'm out with them on my lens someone stops me and is very impressed. Most people I've encountered think it's actually part of the lens! I guess you don't see the macro flashes very much, though they do use them on CSI Las Vegas. Maybe people think I'm out shooting crime scenes and I'm part of CSI.

=)
