thanks guys! I'm going to try some recovery software on the old computer. It really was gone on the external drive. I still don't know why. If I viewed the external drive from "computer - drive J" It showed all of it's memory was available, and it should have had about 30 gig on it. Nothing has been added to the old computer, so I believe it's the best bet to retrieve from. The biggest pain was getting the "purchased" software that was bought via internet to work. Almost everyone of them had to be reset by their companies. And, I had to do it twice, lol! I have figured out the best way to move stuff from one to the other is drag and drop on the external. It tends to stay there now, lol!

I think the 0% is a problem with their program. Everyone showed 0% when I looked.
Thanks for voting.

votng done

had a little gtg this morning with TO resident Morgan and his lovely English Setter, Pig, in Merrickville, as he is in the region for a few days. He had a case full of NOTHING but killer lenses, I didn't dare handle any in case I dropped one!

Anyway, got some decent pix. It really is time I got cracking and posted the pics from the other gtgs I've attended.

And Fallen is doing well...

Vent. Rant. Bitch/moan. Pick one.

New job (well, old job, new regime) is such that I'm considering sending my cats to Mom, selling my belongings, and VOLUNTEERING to spend 365 days in a hot sandy place. I'll try to talk myself out of it, but I suspect it would be less stress overall.

I go to get breakfast this morning - I'm number 0. Not 99, not 1, but 0. Refreshing! Or anonymous. Pick one. I take some stuff to the post office - boxes to mail to the states. The minute I pull into the parking lot it begins to pour. Once I get in the post office, it stops. Of course! I proactively researched something at work - took the initiative! Tried to do something to help others! Got promptly chastised for it for "stepping outside my lane".

And then. Then! Don tells me my FS suffered from thumbnail voters, of which he was apparently one since he missed it in voting. I never have pretty thumbnails.

Ah well, it's Friday, and I suspect my Crackberry is going to suffer a mysterious power failure shortly after I leave the office this afternoon. I can get chastised for that on Monday and that will be soon enough, thanks.

An old jewish proverb, "This too shall pass". Vent anytime you want.

The caveat to that proverb is it is most likely to cause hemorroids as it passes....

I was just talking about my own thumbnail voting. Sometimes all I have time for is to quickly scan thumbnails. And I missed your photo because of my haste. I didn't mean to impugn your thumbnail! It's just the kind of shot that blossoms when you see it full size.

Jeb, have fun!

Not so far, but I haven't tried yet, lol. I'm waiting on a replacement router from verizon so I can network the two together (the one I have only has one input/one output, it's ancient). I need to put it online to get the retrival software. No one is using it in the meantime, so I don't need to worry about anything being overwritten. Then I need to get a new cd/r to put in it so I can reformat it back to it's original state. Hopefully that will get rid of all the problems it was having and my son can use that one instead of the new one.

Passed the 20,000 mark in commenting today - Lady Shez was the recipient of that particular comment, as she's way ahead of me and I figured I'd honor her. :-)

And in celebration, I thought I'd pass along two of the comments I've received on challenge entries lately:

On my Lawn entry, I have the following:
"I"

On my Fallen entry (still in voting, so I hope this doesn't reveal too much!), I have the following:
"g"

And now, back to the laundry....

Maybe it's a puzzle. Maybe after about 10 entries it will spell out some wonderful message!! :)

Hmmm. So far we have "Ig". And from two different commenters, no less! "Ignoramous" comes to mind. Or "Ignaceous". That could be it. If I get an "n" in the next challenge, we could be on to something!
