Yeah, thatâs a good article. I bookmarked it to read later. Maybe I can put it on my Kindle.
Whatâs with the pancakes! Now I crave pancakes! Already, when I read about SPAM, I must head for the pantry to see if thereâs any in there. (There is.)
Oh, well, from this article, I learned that the brain is malleable. Well, I knew that actually, having learned it in my early years. More than two/three martinis made my brainâs mallet able to inflict real pain.
I also learned that thereâs a title called Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the reading Brain. I did not click on that link, as I already like squid, but am not particularly fond of Proust.
In case youâre interested, itâs approximately 5:00pm in my time zone, and itâs dinnertime.
I am resisting having Spam and pancakes for dinner. I will have a salad,
salad,
salad...

For those of you who didn't quite make it all the way to the near bottom of the article, the reference to pancakes comes from this quote "...we risk turning into ââpancake peopleââspread wide and thin as we connect with that vast network of information accessed by the mere touch of a button.â
See?! I couldn't help myself...I snuck over to Blackle and found the link....Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the reading Brain.
My apologies! I just don't think I can add salad to this menu (Ewww), but I might just add spam.
If anything, I do believe that Google has improved my sense of humor...;-)

Interesting.....
If anything, my reading and general curiosity and the ability to satisfy it has increased by the ease and availability of this awesomely powerful research tool.
I read as much as I ever did, and I use Google, and other resources on the 'Net to answer questions I have and raise questions that never would have occurred to me without the browsing I do when looking for......anything and everything.
The human mind has very few limits that aren't self-imposed, IMNSHO.
I'm 53, and I think the 'Net in general, and Google in particular, are exciting, informative, provocative, and infuriating......just what I need to keep my ever inquisitive nature crankin' along at full speed.
It has also made the world smaller because of my ability to access it, and larger by my discovering how much I don't know every time I learn something.
I'm a very serious student of life, each and every day.

I suppose Google as a tool of life is somewhat of a character test in so far as how one uses it and integrates the influence and experience. But, on a more global level, what shifts have occurred because of it's presence...if any?

While practicing my five thirds pancake flipping technique...I've now made a MESS! So, while I'm waiting for Bill to come over and clean it up, we will have to go out for pancakes...
No guarantee that the waitress doesn't GOOGLE though...
