I'll wait until Friday night to decide. I agree driving that far with rain forcast just doesn't seem worth it (except it's always worth it to see more DPCers). |

I'm with Nathan, I'll make my call the night before. I have a waterproof camera but not waterproof kids. If its going to be downpours, we are out.

I'm with NathanW and notesinstones, I'll make the final call tomorrow night. Driving 3 hours for a rainny day is not very fun, but since I live a lot closer to the action now (I use to be 6 hours north of Montreal) I'm open to all GTG within 3 or 4 hours from here. So I will be on the next one if the weather does not cooperate Saturday. |

Is this the official meeting time/place? unless it is pouring rain when I get up and/or starts to downpour while I am on the way, I will be there.
Anyone want to PM me a cell # in case I am a bit late and want to find the people who made it? The call will be coming from 413-884-xxxx cell number in case you screen calls. |

I'm sorry but I will have to pass this GTG :(
I just checked the Weather Network and it calls for 10 to 15 mm of rains and 90% P.O.P., it's not worth a 6 hours drive (3 hours one way)

Well, sorry to hear that Alain. Was looking forward to meeting up. All the weather indicators I look at (including my own weather station and forecast system - really a cool set of gadgets) so far it doesn't look all that bad for tomorrow in the area. Could be wrong. After all they are only predictions.
Anyway, I will be making my way up there regardless of the weather. Need to put some distance between me and the current situation. The miles will do the thought process wonders (kinda like my own personal therapy - driving). So I will see all who show up and wonder about those that don't.

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to make it either. It's just too long of a drive for the chance of weather. I know...I know...the weatherman/woman is wrong a lot of the time, but with the cost of gas I really don't want to risk not being able to do anything.
I say we try to reschedule (if possible) or at least have another GTG.
So...now that I'm not driving all the way down there...what am I going to do? I'm going to be taking the lights and siren off of my van and installing them in my brand new (to me) 2003 Ford Explorer. The lights aren't hard to transfer, but the siren is a pain in the butt (lots of wires). The hardest part is actually pulling apart the vehicle console so that I can run the wires behind everything and not clutter up the inside of the vehicle. I could be wrong on that being the hardest part since I'm actually going to be mounting the siren speaker behind the grill instead of on the outside like it is on my van.
I hope that everyone that goes has a good time and not to be mean, but I hope it rains like crazy. *grin* I'd hate to miss good weather. |

Bummer - naasty weather down here too - Who was in charge of weather for this event? When you posted the questionaire you should have included a selection for weather. If we all has voted for sunny, maybe the sun would shine. I'm sure no one would hace voted for hurricane.
Yes, reschedule - there was a lot of interest. |

Sorry everyone, I got up - went down to pack up the car and the sky opened up on me. I took it as a general sign that I shouldnt try brinign my held-together-with-electrical-tape broken camera out in anything even slightly damp. I'll catch everyone on the next meet up in the area. :( |

Well, I don't know what the weather's doing up there, but down HERE it is horrible and getting worse; the remnants of the hurricane are approaching the coast 1nd 65 mph winds are predicted. A good day for me not to be driving :-)
G'luck to all of you brave souls who made it out.

Up here in Northern New Hampshier we've only gotten light rain and only in the afternoon. I spent waaaay too long installing my siren. Turns out I had crossed some wires and it took me about an hour and a half to figure out which ones. UGH. The lights weren't that hard though.
Yes, can someone please post some pictures for us wooses. *grin* |

Not sure exactly about leaf season. With the goofy weather we've had this summer I don't have a clue. |

Well, the day was not that bad. There was a bit of rain, but we ventured the gorge, then on to VINS (raptors, etc.) then on to Billings Farm. Oh and lunch was in there somewhere. I believe all who showed up had a good time. There was a good group, 10(?) members and family/friends of a few, and a dog.
