I want to make a good snoot to put over a nice new powerful white flashlight I bought so I can try painting in the images etc. What's the best way, material etc to make a good snoot for around a small flashlight?

Construction paper and cello tape would be where I'd start, but I'm basically frugal.

I use a cardboard box from a pack of cookies. It fits snugly around the 580EX. And you get to eat the cookies.

this was doen with a flashlight and cone. All of my lightpaintings are either done wtih this or a metal cone.

The best for a flaslight depends on what sort of light you are going for. The MG shot was done with a brown cardboard cone with yellow netting stuffed inside of it to diffuse it.

The Shot above was done with a black very long cardbord cone, which you can squeeze to adjust the lighting.

The nude lightpaintings are down with an extention cord, fitted with a light buld that goes up and down in light adn a metal cone that is painted black inside[thumb]630184[/thumb]

drop me a line if you want some pictures of the cone adn electric set up

Somewhat OT, but here's a link to an article on how to make a DIY snoot for a speedlight.
