Right so this shot bombed - fair game, I had lots of comments explaining why and I've taken it all in. A good leaning experience all round. However, it being my very worst shot ever has miffed me somewhat as I actually really like it.

Here are a couple of out-takes ->

I wanted to avoid "food porn" if possible - maybe a mistake. I chose the shot I did because it's a snapshot of her personality rather than anything else.

My question is was the pitiful score a question of poor shot selection or is the concept really that flawed?

J

edit to add -> For those interested these are part of a full shoot I did with this girl which you can find here.

Personally I like

And

The most because of her facial expressions.

Having an angry gal and an apple makes no sense.

Having her enjoying the apple makes more sense.

I gave you a seven, I liked the shot. The only thing I can possibly think of is perhaps the voters thought the focus should be on the healthy food where as here it is definately the woman. I didn't vote that way and this is just a guess. I honestly can't believe the score you ended up with I think it really should have been higher. I wouldn't let the low vote change your view of the shot at all it is lovely and your right it does show personality.

I'd have to go with shot selection on this one. Note: I didn't vote in this challenge.
In your entry, Caeli looks like she's scowling at the viewer (me). My first thought was to duck - as she's about to bean me with the apple ;O)
IMO, either of your outtakes would've likely fared much better.

Ditto. Your entry is much more about the person than the food, so either of your outtakes would have scored higher.

I voted on this one in the challenge and to be honest - i just thought she was scowling. Didn treally make sense based on the theme - make healthy food look appetizing! It's an okay photo (i like your outtakes better) that to me, doesnt quite deliver the message the theme wanted you to convey.
