My 15 year old daughter was just laughing at me...How do I get photos in the photographers comments box, like for outtakes or to post pics in the forums.She made a photobucket account for me and did it that way but isnt there an easier way? |

click on the photo until it is the big size, then there will be an ID=###### in the url at the top, copy that number and then in the post
click the second icon from the right on top of the text box
it will bring up a prompt to put that number in and PRESTO

You can put some HTML code in the notes box that links to an off site image, such as I did with this one, where I linked to a shot on my Flickr page showing the location of the photo.
I assume Photobucket must do like Flickr and give you some easily copied HTML code that you can use. Just make sure to use thumbnails when posting in the forums. That keeps the threads tidy and if someone wants to see your full size image, they can click on the link to be taken to the Photobucket page.

Here is a thread with instructions I wrote that explains how to post a thumbnail to a photobucket account that will open the bigger image when clicked.

I forgot to mention earlier. I have found that I can put the HTML code to make a linked image in my photographer comments, but not into a forum thread. If I want to do that with an offsite image in a discussion, then I need to use the actual url of the image location, which creates a non-linked image, and then include a link next to it for anyone that wants to view the full size image.
Like so:

You can also do the above to make it clickable (hit reply to see code). |

I'll have to look at that more carefully later. I suppose I was simply using the HTML code that Flickr provided and I need to do it differently here. Thanks.
I've started keeping a text file on a flash drive with templates of code that I can quickly copy and edit as needed. I don't know HTML. Perhaps one day I'll spend some quality time to learn it.

Looks like this (just remove the space after the URL and after the /img tag to make it work):
[url=//www.flickr.com/photos/yospiff/2437339825/ ][img]//farm3.static.flickr.com/2383/2437339825_9564f81228_t.jpg[/img ][/url]
Edit just to add that there's a difference between the above "BBCode" and HTML. Though forum code strives for similarity across different applications, it's not a standardized markup language like HTML is.
