Hey all...

Is anyone else having trouble accessing search engines? Starting yesterday morning I couldn't get any results from Google or Yahoo, etc.

I can't "Google" the topic to get info (natch!) so I figured my fellow DPCers would know what's going on.

Nope, no problems here, either from the www.google.co.uk or www.google.com

Strange! I'm in Canada (southern Ontario). I wonder if there's a regional interruption.

Any other Canadians out there having similar issues?

Google was hanging up on me big-time this morning. Seems fine now, but that was the first time I have ever seen Google not perform. So I suspect something was happening, based on what you have said.

I googled the topic and found no current info, just info on slowdowns months or years ago...

This sorta thing happened to me 2 weeks ago.. All of a sudden, yahoo wasn't coming up, but I still could get onto DPChallenge using my browser history.. I realized that the ONLY website I could get onto was this one.. It lasted about 6 hours or so and then just corrected itself. I still have no idea why that happened.

Bumping...because it's still happening...or not happening, to be more precise.

No problem here, and Google.ca is my homepage. I find pingplotter handy for seeing where problems are.

I'm east of you in western Quebec and have no problems accessing googl or any other search engine. Must be local, have you contacted you ISP?

Turns out it was the Vundo virus. It's a nasty, devious little trojan that infects web browsers.

Norton didn't catch it. On the advice of a client, I installed AVG.

That cleared it right up.

Yikes, I'm glad you caught it.

I've noticed a big increase in spyware on my PC lately. I guess I'm picking it up just by websurfing, though I wonder if there could be something hidden on my PC that reinstalls it after I delete it.
