Just got around to reading this

Couple of interesting things to note:

The recommendation is with the new resizing tools in Photoshop CS, to not bother doing stair interpolation any more as the bicubic smoother interpolation algorithm gives better results than SI.

Also, the suggestion is to use bicubic sharper for resizing down.

wait, so that means in photoshop CS, instead of typing in 105 percent a lotta times to resample, you can just make it like 130 percent, and it would look the same?

Yes, that's the basic idea.

Also interesting are the 'Window->Arrange->Match zoom and position' option, then doing shift+space to pan around a shot, and it'll be matched in another open shot, or 20 open shots. Makes comparing a set of similar shots really easy.

The new web gallery options are good too, with options to create spaces for user/ client feedback and selection.
