Yahoo is my home page and it's coming up as "internet explorer cannot display images".. You know, the screen you get when a website is down or your internet is down.. I thought it was me, restarted and I'm connected.. Did someone hack yahoo and it's taken a dump ??? Just wondering if I'm the only one having this problem.

ditto.

Maybe they filtered you out for being too big a trouble maker.

You should make yourself a personalized Google page. Make yourself a gmail account while you're at it. Google's way more fun than that tired old Yahoo anyhow.

Make sure there isn't a problem with your server. I just checked three accounts on Yahoo with no problem.

It's likely a DNS issue in your area. There's definitely some weird stuff going on at the moment (ie. dictionary.com is not resolving correctly, but if you go to dictionary.reference.com it works properly). Normally that resolves itself.

I'd wait for a bit for things to propogate (work themselves out) :O)

Will this work? It's a direct link to the email login page

https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=us

Both sites load quickly and display properly for me (Safari 3.1). Empty cache/switch browsers?

Pingplotter can come in handy in finding whether it's the site, your ISP, or somewhere along the route. Small, easy, and free :)

Good luck with the email AND the house purchase!

That's the nature of DNS... it's regionally oriented. If there's problems (or updates), some site will work for you - but may not for others (yet). It just depends on your provider's peering point and how long it takes for changes to propogate.

Kay, that worked and got me onto yahoo only but wouldn't let me navigate any further.. Now, I've totally cleared my computer of everything and I still can only get onto DPChallenge.. Why would that happen. ?? I had DP up and walked away, changed the laundry and did some things, came back to my computer to look at some listings and all this happened.. What can I do to fix this??

OK...... This is really weird.. Can anyone tell me why I would only be able to get onto ONE website under any circumstance??? Did I get a virus ????

That link is the IP address, no DNS required. Seems to me your Internet Service Provider is having issues with its Domain Name Servers.

You could try adding one of my Bell DNS servers to you TCP/IP.

207.164.234.193

To add the above IP, go to Control Panel, Network Connections, right-click on Local Area Connection and select Properties. Go to TCP/IP Properties, and enter the above IP address as a DNS server. (I'm assuming you have an ethernet cable plugged into you PC, and not using dialup).

That should get you around your ISP's crapped-out DNS servers.
