I received the following email today. Has anyone else checked it out? I took a look and it seems legit and an interesting project.
==========================================
How are you? My name is David and I'm a university student from Melbourne, Australia. I have come across your website via the "Leap Year Project" as I'm looking for people who have an interest in photography.
"A Picture's Worth" invites people from all around the world to send in photos along with a story which explains the photograph's significance. Overall, it is a 'show and tell' site that shows a new submission every day. I constantly seek more submissions so that the site can continue to grow. I have noticed that your site is more photography-focused but part of the project's aim is to encourage people to try something new in the spirit of 'sharing'. Hence, I was wondering whether there is a photograph amongst your collection that you might be inspired to write about. It need only be around 300+ words long and there's no limit on the number of submissions you can submit.
It would also be fantastic if you could spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested in reading or making submissions. Basically, most of the contributors so far have come to the site through word of mouth as the site is still very small.
Kind regards, David Chin A Picture's Worth - //1000words.net |

That looks like an excellent site. Being able to write something interesting about your photos will help you decide if your photo is really interesting or not.

It looks very interesting ... maybe it will satisfy my long-standing desire to have the photo "additional details" displayed along with the photo. |

I tried to submit a photo and essay to it just now and it bombed on the file upload.... has anyone else tried it?

Not yet ... it's going to take me a while to write the essay part.
I was thinking of using this photo from around 1991, my only time overseas:
Sunrise Over Galilee
The swampy area in the foreground is/was Israel, the mountains in the distance are Jordan. |
