I haven't purchased one yet...it's on my list. Just a quick question: I went to the zoo today, 5 minutes from my home (And this is the first time I've gone, and I've lived here 10yrs almost). The glass between me and some of the animals was a problem on some occasions. Would a PL do the trick in solving this problem?

It would probably help cut down the reflection (with some caveats depending on the angle of the reflection). But ... you'll also be losing a lot of light (the PL will darken the scene quite a bit). So if the lower light makes it hard to hand hold the camera or stop the action, it may be easier to step off to one side or another and avoid the reflection in the first place.

I was trying to get in the way of the reflection. On occasion it would help. It was mostly the orangutan that I wanted to get a close-up of. She had her face right up against the glass with her hands posed like she was trying to get a better look at me. It was such a nice moment, but too dark to capture well enough.
