There's really a difference between the two and I prefer the non-DPC version. I'm really not an expert in these things, but it has something to do with the color profile and how browsers displays things, I think. After downloading your photo from DPC (sorry about that) and displaying them without a browser, then I see no difference between them. Perhaps it's because the DPC one is in Adobe RGB (1998) and the nice one in sRGB IEC61966-2.1. But I'm not sure about this. Enough tech talk now here (just looking at your profile age :-). You can always PM me.

OK, so I go out of town for two days and somehow manage to miss this one. Well, I think I would be up for this in April. Can't think of anything I'd enjoy more to be honest. Great idea Alicia.

I'd like to join in on this one. I love shooting food, shots don't always turn out like I would like, but it sure is fun. Not sure I can keep up with a PAD, but I'll do my best.

I'd love to join in... since I'm not working right now and I'm the head chef of the household for awhile!!!

Count me in - an excellent idea, and it would get me back in to the habit of proper cooking (nearly) every day.

I could never do this.....I don't have any creative ideas.

I could submit sporadically, so long as I remember to shoot the food before I start to snarf it down..count me in!

Add me to the list please. It's a great way to herge my two hobbies.

I'd like to give this a go as I love to cook, but I'm not an expert by any means, and I'm always looking for new ideas and recipes. I'm not sure if I can do a PAD, but I will try to get in as many as I can.

The newest are added. This is becoming quite the motley crew! Really looking forward to this side.

I soooo want to be in!! Food is one of my passions. Not just eating it ;) but also preparing it. I don't promise to do one a day but I'll try to do as many as possible. And with the recipes, of course! I have done a lot of spice shots for the March macro side challenge and it is pretty obvious for nayone who seen them (and read the comments I gave) that I love cooking.

Looking forward to discovering lots of new stuff!

I may be able to. I start a new class in april so I don't know what the homework load will be. I will submit what I can. Thanks!

Does anyone have any objection if I post some pics I already shot, as well as posting some new ones? I shoot the recipes Sara and I cook most weekends and I've got loads I could put on.

I would love to take part (it would be my first side challenge) but we are moving house so I am not sure how much I will be able to participate. I love to bake though and reckon I will owe a few batches of cookies for the help we are getting with our move.

There's actually an interesting piece on photographing food on Photojojo today //photojojo.com/content/tips/food-photography-tips/

By all means, go for it. Personally, I don't feel the photo has to be taken ON the day it's posted.

Awesome link, Heidi - thanks for posting it.

And all: everyone participate as much as you like and have time for. This definitely shouldn't turn into a stressful obligation, but should be fun!

My mom is arriving on April 1 and staying through April 12. I'll also be traveling during that time - so I will see how much I can post - hopefully a lot of our travel eats!

Loads of good information. I love that he tells you to use window light and later says that he shoots with 8 lights.
